Galactose

Galactose (Greek galaktos, gala – milk, milk; synonym: a tserebroza) – one of monosaccharides of group of hexoses which is a part of glycoproteins of blood, galactolipids of a brain and connecting fabric; it is formed when splitting lactose in a digestive tract, further turns into glucose.
