Vaccine I

Vaccine I (vaccinum; lat. vaccinus – cow) – the drug made of the killed cultures of microorganisms or the live attenuirovanny (weakened) strains, their antigens or toxins, intended for active immunization of people and animals.

Types of a vaccine:

  • Adsorbed (adsorptum) – antigens of which are absorbed on the substances increasing and extending antigenic irritation;
  • Antirabic (antirabicum; Greek anti – against + lat. rabies – rage) – received from a strain of the fixed rhabdovirus in culture of cells or in suspension of tissues of brain of animals, and applied to prevention of defeat at the persons bitten (oslyunenny) rabid by animals or suspects on a disease;
  • Associated (associatum; synonyms: a polyvalent vaccine, a vaccine complex, the vaccine combined) – the drug including in the structure several vaccines of various look used for at the same time made immunization against several infectious diseases;
  • Live (vivum) – which contains the viable strains of a causative organism which completely kept antigenic properties, but weakened to the degree excluding emergence of a disease, leading to development of specific immunity in vaccinated;
  • Polyvalent (polyvalens; Greek poly-– is a lot of + armor. valens, valentis – strong) – made on the basis of several serological kinds of the causative agent of one infectious disease;
  • Killed (v. inactivatum) – received from microorganisms which were inactivated (are killed) with influence of chemical or physical factors;
  • Fenolizirovanny (phenolatum) – the inactivated vaccine made from the microorganisms inactivated by phenol;
  • Formalinizirovanny (formalinatum; synonym: a formolvaktsina) – the inactivated vaccine received from the microorganisms inactivated by formalin;
  • Chemical (chemicum) – containing the specific antigens taken from microorganisms, and exempted from ballast substances;
  • Embryonal (embryonale) – made of rickettsiae or viruses which were grown up on embryos of birds (quails, hens);
  • Eterizovanny (aetherisatum) – the inactivated vaccine received from the microorganisms inactivated by ether.
