Pharmacological action of Ursofalk

Ursofalk according to the instruction renders the cholagogue, destroying cholesteric stones, reducing cholesterol action.

Drug protects membranes of cells of a liver and bilious ways from damage by toxic bile acids, and also interferes with growth of connecting fabric in a liver in case of injury of hepatocytes.

Ursofalk contains urodezoksikholevy acid in the structure. It as if delimits a structural cover the smallest structures of bile acids – forms the so-called mixed micelles. Urodezoksikholevy acid interacts also with lipophilic structures of membranes, doing them steady against damage. Thus it realizes cytoprotective (protective) action.

Decrease in content of cholesterol in bile is implemented due to reduction of its return absorption in intestines, suppression of education in a liver and decrease in allocation in bile. In bile the content of bile acids increases thanks to what cholesteric gallstones are dissolved, and new are not formed.

As well as its analogs, Ursofalk strengthens secretion of a stomach and pancreas.

Drug has immunological effect – influences the maintenance of different classes of immune cells in an organism, and at the level of a liver – slows down development of fibrosis in patients with a mucoviscidosis, primary biliary cirrhosis, alcoholic damage of a liver, reduces probability of developing of a varicosity of a gullet. There are positive reviews about Ursofalke at his inclusion in the program of treatment of malignant diseases of a large intestine (cancer), it is capable to detain growth of tumor cells.

Release form

Ursofalk produce in capsules on 250 mg and in suspension (bottles on 250 ml, the content of urodezoksikholevy acid - 250 mg / 5 ml).

Indications to Ursofalk's use

Drug appoint for therapy of primary biliary cirrhosis on condition of the compensated state, biliary a reflux gastritis, for dissolution of cholesteric stones in a gall bladder and in case of a cholestasia at parenteral food, in complex treatment of a mucoviscidosis, diskineziya of biliary tract. He is recommended and for the prevention of development of a colon cancer in groups of high risk in this disease.

There are no age restrictions. So, Ursofalk's use as the means reducing the level of an indirect bilirubin in blood is possible at newborns at a pairing hyperbilirubinemia (jaundice).

Contraindications

Ursofalk according to the instruction do not use at his individual intolerance, in case of rentgenpolozhitelny gallstones (they contain a lot of calcium), at inflammatory diseases of biliary tract and intestines, dekompensirovanny cirrhosis, a nonfunctioning gall bladder, at disturbances in work of kidneys, a liver or pancreas.

Application instruction of Ursofalk

Drug is accepted 1 time a day (for the night) inside. The capsule is swallowed, without opening a cover, wash down with water. The average daily dose of Ursofalk is calculated on the body weight of the patient and makes 10 mg/kg/days. If the dosage exceeds average, it is possible to divide a daily dose into 2 – 3 receptions. Ursofalk's suspension is recommended for treatment of children up to 3 years and patients weighing less than 34 kg, and also at swallowing difficulties. Recommend to accept drug it is long – from several months to 2 years, without breaks in treatment.

For dissolution of stones before an initiation of treatment it is necessary to be convinced of a gall bladder that they cholesteric (on their roentgenogram it is not visible), no more than 20 mm in size, fill a gall bladder no more than half, at the same time passability of bilious ways remains. As well as its analogs Ursofalk do not recommend to use at the same time with the means increasing the content of cholesterol in bile (Clofibratum, are oestrogenic, etc.). Antacids worsen drug absorption.

In case of cholelithiasis duration of dissolution of stones from 6 to 24 months, but if in 12 months from the beginning of reception of positive dynamics it is noted, it is possible to cancel Ursofalk as further treatment by it is inexpedient. For control of efficiency of treatment it is necessary to investigate time in half a year a liver and biliary tract by means of ultrasound and radiological.

At biliary a reflux gastritis and a reflux esophagitis the reception course on average lasts 10 – 14 days.

At a mucoviscidosis the daily dose of Ursofalk reaches 20 – 30 mg/kg/days, at primary biliary cirrhosis to 15 – 20 mg/kg/days.

Ursofalk's analogs are Ursosan, Urdoksa and Ursodez.

Side effects

According to Ursofalk sometimes causes allergic reactions, diarrhea, dyspepsia, calcination of gallstones.
