Yodopiron

ЙодопиронYodopiron – antiseptic drug for external use.

Form of release and structure

Dosage forms:

  • Powder for preparation of solution for external use (on 150, 1500 or 3000 g in double plastic bags, in a package from a black lightproof film – 1 double package; on 150 g in banks polyethylene or polietilentereftalatovy);
  • Solution for external use: film-forming dark brown liquid with an insignificant specific smell or without it (on 50 or 100 ml in polymeric bottles, on 100 ml in glass bottles, in a cardboard pack 1 bottle; on 500 or 1000 ml in polymeric bottles and on 100, 200, 225, 250, 400, 410, 425 or 450 ml in glass bottles – for hospitals).

Active ingredient – iodine:

  • 100 g of powder – 9,4 g;
  • 1000 ml of solution – 14,1 g.

Auxiliary components:

  • Powder: potassium iodide – 9,3 g, polyvinylpirrolidone low-molecular medical – 81,3 g;
  • Solution: potassium iodide – 13,8 g, povidone low-molecular – 122,1 g, the water purified – to 1000 ml.

Indications to use

  • Powder for solution preparation: for disinfecting of elbow bends of donors, hands of the surgeon, surgical gloves and a surgery field; at treatment of burns, purulent and contaminated wounds, osteomyelitis;
  • Solution: outwardly – at treatment of infectious and inflammatory damages of skin, injuries, wounds, mialgiya; locally – at the adenoid disease, atrophic rhinitis, purulent otitis, trophic and varicose ulcers, wounds infected burns, fresh thermal and corrosive burns of the I-II degree; intake – therapy of tertiary syphilis, for prevention and treatment of atherosclerosis.

Contraindications

Yodopiron's use is contraindicated at hypersensitivity to drug components.

For oral administration use of solution is contraindicated to patients: at a pulmonary tuberculosis, nephrite, a nephrosis, adenoma, including adenoma of a thyroid gland, a furunculosis, acne rash, a chronic pyoderma, hemorrhagic diathesis, a small tortoiseshell; during pregnancy; aged up to 5 years.

Route of administration and dosage

  • Powder: it is intended for external use. In pharmaceutical conditions from powder prepare 1% solution, solutions bring to 0,1-0,5% of concentration just before use. Surgeons apply 5 ml of 0,1% of solution to disinfection of hands, make processing of a surgery field by means of the tampon moistened in solution. Patients with extensive burns are immersed for 10-15 minutes in a bathtub with the solution prepared in the ratio 1:32 or 1:50. At complex treatment of purulent wounds, processing of elbow bends of donors iodic solutions apply 0,5% and 1%;
  • Solution: outwardly use for processing of the damaged sites of skin. At intake the doctor appoints a dose individually, taking into account age of the patient and clinical indications. Locally: at burns and in surgical practice the gauze napkins moistened in solution impose as required on affected areas; for washing of supratonsillar spaces and lacunas – 4-5 procedures every 2-3 day; at treatment of a nasopharynx – on 2-3 irrigations a week within 2-3 months; an instillation and washing of ears – for 2-4 weeks.

Side effects

Use of powder for preparation of solution for external use can cause side effects in the form of a xeroderma, an itch, development of allergic reactions (a small tortoiseshell, a hyperemia), perhaps temporary burning when wetting extensive wound surfaces.

Side effects of use of solution can become:

  • External use: seldom – irritation of skin; when drawing on extensive wound surfaces for a long time – an iodism (urticaria, rhinitis, a Quincke's edema, acne rash, the increased salivation and dacryagogue);
  • Intake: tachycardia, sleep disorders, skin allergic reactions, nervousness, the increased perspiration, diarrhea at patients is more senior than 40 years.

Special instructions

Emergence of the phenomena of an iodism is possible at long use of solution.

Medicinal interaction

Yodopiron's solution is incompatible with ammonia solutions, essential oils, at contact with white sedimentary mercury (explosive mix is created).

Antiseptic action of drug is weakened by presence of pus, fat, blood, acid or alkaline medium.

Solution reduces goitrogenic and hypothyroid effect of drugs of lithium.

Terms and storage conditions

To store in the unavailable to children, dry, protected from light place at a temperature: powder – to 30 °C, solution – to 25 °C.

Period of validity: powder – 3 years, solution – 2 years.
