Azaleptinum

Azaleptinum – drug of group of antipsychotic means. Treats neuroleptics, has sedative properties. Promotes muscular relaxation, strengthens effect of anesthetics and somnolent drugs. Has peripheral and central cholinolytic effect.

Form of release and structure

Azaleptinum (active ingredient – clozapine) is issued in the form of tablets and solution for injections (2,5%) on 2 ml in one ampoule (a dose of dry drug in an ampoule – 50 mg).

Indications to use

Use of Azaleptinum promotes decrease in motive excitement, aggression and impulsiveness, normalizes a dream.

According to the instruction, Azaleptinum is applied at the following diseases:

• Acute and chronic form of schizophrenia;
• Maniacal states (a classical and atypical mania, an unproductive mania with nonsense);
• Maniac-depressive psychosis;
• Mental and motor excitement.

Drug is quickly adsorbed in digestive tract, reaches the maximum level in a blood plasma in 2,5 hours after reception. Does not exert impact on intellectual functions.

Contraindications

Use of Azaleptinum has the following contraindications:

• Granulocytopenia;
• Agranulocytosis in the anamnesis;
• Coma;
• Myasthenia;
• Disturbance of a marrowy hemopoiesis;
• Pregnancy;
• Lactation;
• Hypersensitivity to drug;
• Children's age up to 5 years.

Route of administration and dosage

The single dose of Azaleptinum for adults makes from 50 mg to 200 mg, daily – from 200 mg to 400 mg. In most cases treatment is begun with 25-50 mg, gradually increasing a dosage to 200 or 300 mg a day.

According to the instruction to Azaleptinum, it is necessary to accept drug 2-3 times a day after food. Purpose of a daily dose in one step before going to bed is in certain cases possible. The most admissible dose at intake makes 600 mg. In some cases the doctor appoints intramuscular administration of drug.

The course of treatment makes 1-2 weeks depending on weight and a form of a disease.

The instruction to Azaleptinum provides purpose of drug in small quantities (no more than 50 mg) at frustration of a dream. Responses confirm that this drug really helps with small doses at sleeplessness.

The overdose by Azaleptinum can be followed by respiratory depression, drowsiness, uneasiness, epileptic seizures, tachycardia, hypotension, a collapse, a coma. Treatment at overdose provides purpose of sorbents, maintenance of function of heart and breath, symptomatic therapy. The hemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis at poisoning with Azaleptinum do not give desirable effect.

Side effects

Drug is well transferred thanks to the central cholinolytic action and moderate influence on dopamine receptors. But in certain cases use of Azaleptinum can cause the following side effects from outside:

• Central nervous system: the headache, drowsiness, is more rare – confusion of consciousness, sleeplessness, a depression, extrapyramidal disturbances, epilepsy;
• Cardiovascular system: a lowering of arterial pressure, orthostatic hypotension with dizziness, tachycardia, sometimes – arterial hypertension;
• Digestive tract: the increased salivation, vomiting, nausea, heartburn, feeling of dryness in a mouth, locks;
• Metabolism: the increased perspiration, a set of weight;
• Circulatory system: granulocytopenia, eosinophilia, thrombocytopenia, leukopenia;
• Other systems: disturbance of accommodation, problem with an urination, decrease in a potentiality, myasthenia.

Special instructions

Development of a granulocytopenia demands immediate drug withdrawal.

For the period of use of this medicine it is necessary to exclude the use of alkogolesoderzhashchy drinks.

During treatment by Azaleptinum it is necessary to be careful at management of transport and during the work with the difficult mechanisms demanding the increased concentration of attention.

Conditions and periods of storage

Drug should be stored in the dry, protected from influence of sunshine place at a temperature not above 30 °C.
