Berotek
Application instruction:
Berotek – drug for stopping and prevention of a bronchospasm.
Form of release and structure
Medicine is produced in the form of solution for inhalations: colourless or almost colourless, transparent (on 20, 40, 100 ml in dark glass bottles droppers, on 1 bottle in a cardboard pack).
The operating component: Fenoterolum hydrobromide, in 1 ml – 1 mg.
Indications to use
Thanks to effect of active agent, Fenoterolum, drug warns and stops a bronchospasm of various origin, effectively protects from influence of metasincaline, a histamine, allergens, cold air and other bronchoconstrictors.
Berotek is appointed in the following cases:
- Attacks of bronchial asthma;
- The states which are characterized by reversible obstruction of a respiratory organs;
- Prevention of asthma of physical effort.
Besides, drug is appointed before inhalation of mucolytic means, antibiotics, glucocorticosteroids (as bronchodilatory means) and at a research of function of external respiration (for carrying out bronkhodilyatatsionny tests).
Contraindications
Drug is not appointed at a hypertrophic subaortic stenosis, a tachyarrhythmia and hypersensitivity to Fenoterolum.
Care at appointment Beroteka is necessary at purpose of drug for children up to 6 years and to patients with the following diseases:
- Diabetes mellitus;
- Serious illness of cardiovascular system;
- Recently postponed myocardial infarction;
- Arterial hypotension or hypertensia;
- Hyperthyroidism;
- Intestines atony;
- Hypopotassemia;
- Pheochromocytoma.
Expediency of use of Berotek during pregnancy and during feeding by a breast is defined by the doctor.
Route of administration and dosage
Drug before use should be dissolved with normal saline solution up to the volume of 3-4 ml. Duration of inhalation is controlled on a solution expenditure. It is necessary to dissolve medicine just before the procedure. The interval between inhalations should not be less than 4 hours.
For removal of an attack of bronchial asthma to children 12 years are more senior and the adult recommend to apply 10 drops of solution, in hard cases it is possible to increase this dose till 20-25, and in extremely heavy – to 40 drops. To children of 6-12 years in the same purposes appoint to apply about 10 drops of Berotek, in hard cases – on 20, in extremely heavy – on 30 drops are inhalation. In need of repeated use of drug it is appointed to 4 times a day in a dosage of 10 drops.
For children up to 6 years for the purpose of stopping of an attack of bronchial asthma and at other states with reversible obstruction of respiratory tracts the initial dose makes 5 drops, the maximum one-time – 10 drops. Inhalations will see to 3 times a day.
For the purpose of prevention of asthma of physical effort by the adult, to children of 6 years and to elderly patients appoint 10 drops of Berotek before intensive loading.
Side effects
Berotek's use can cause the following by-effects:
- Headache, nervousness, dizziness, small tremor;
- Heartbeat strengthening, tachycardia, stenocardia, arrhythmia;
- Hypopotassemia (decrease in blood of potassium ions), a hyperglycemia (increase in content of glucose in blood);
- Local irritation, cough;
- Vomiting, nausea;
- Muscular spasms, sweating strengthening, mialgiya (muscle pain), weakness;
- Allergic reactions.
Special instructions
Berotek's use for inhalations has to happen under control of the doctor.
When using drug it is necessary to observe strictly the dosage appointed by the doctor and frequency rate of inhalations.

Structural analog of medicine is Berotek the N produced in the form of an aerosol for inhalations and also the drugs Fenoterolum, Aerum, Dosberotek, Segamol and Aruterol.

Solution should be stored at a temperature not above 30 °C.
