Biseptolum is a sulfanamide drug of antiparasitic and antimicrobic action.

Pharmacological action

Sulfamethoxazole and Trimethoprimum is a part of Biseptolum thanks to what drug possesses bactericidal and bacteriostatic action, it is active concerning pneumococci, stafilokokk, sticks of a typhoid, dysentery, colibacillus, streptococci, a protea. Biseptolum does not show activity against mycobacteria of tuberculosis, a pyocyanic stick, spirochetes.

Release form

Biseptolum is released in the form of suspension for internal use, a concentrate for infusional use. Release also the tablets Biseptolum of 120 Mg and Biseptolum 480.

Indications to use of Biseptolum

Use of Biseptolum is appointed at acute, chronic bronchitis, a pleura empyema, abscesses of a lung, a bronchoectatic disease, pneumonia, an urethritis, cystitis, a pyelitis, pyelonephritis chronic, prostatitis, an urethritis gonococcal. According to the instruction Biseptolum is appointed in such dosages:

at inflammatory conditions of the uric ways, infections of a digestive tract provoked by a shigella at exacerbations of bronchitis chronic at adults: two tablets Biseptolum 120 or Biseptolum 480. Two take a pill orally р / days. A course of treatment the drugs Biseptolum 480 and Biseptolum of 120 mg at inflammatory diseases of urinary tract – 10-14dn, at an exacerbation of bronchitis chronic – two weeks, at infections of a digestive tract – 5 days;

at inflammatory conditions of the uric ways, infections of a digestive tract provoked by a shigella average acute otitis at children Biseptolum apply in a dosage 48 mg on kilogram of body weight of the child in each 12 h on two receptions a day;
at the pneumonia provoked by Pneumocystis carinii a daily dose for adults and children - 90-12mg on kilogram of weight. The pill Biseptolum is taken the divided doses by each 6 p. 14-21;
for prevention of pneumonia appoint adult 960 mg one р / days. The most admissible daily dose – 16 tablets Biseptolum 120 or 4 - Biseptol480.

Suspension of Biseptolum is appointed generally to children with an interval of 12 h in such dosages: 3-6mes. – 2,5ml; 7 months - 3 g 2,5-5ml; 4-6l. 5-10ml; 7-12l. 10 ml. To children 12 l are more senior. and the adult if necessary appoint suspension on 20 ml also with an interval of 12 h.

Side effects
