Cyclohoney

Cyclohoney – the medicine from group of m cholinomimetics used in ophthalmology.

Besalolum, Becarbonum, Belastezin, Anuzol, Atropini sulfas, Beladonna extract, Took, Betiol, Midriatsil, Buskopan, Gastrotipin, Irifrin, Gastropin, Gastrotsepin, Ipravent – Tsiklomed's drugs analogs (enter into one pharmacological group).

Structure and form of release of Tsiklomed

Cyclohoney is produced in the form of transparent solution in a plastic bottle dropper on 5 ml.

1 ml of Tsiklomed according to the instruction contains 0,01 g of a tsiklopentolat of a hydrochloride, and also auxiliary components - 0,0001 g a benzalkoniya of chloride, dinatrium эдетат, sodium chloride, water for injections.

Pharmacological action

Tsiklopentolat blocks m-holinoretseptory, thereby promoting tension of a tsiliarny (ciliary) muscle of an eye and simultaneous relaxation of the muscle narrowing a pupil. Relaxation of a ciliary muscle of an eye leads to development of paralysis of accommodation - a tsikloplegiya. Temporary paralysis of accommodation helps to recover the lost functions of an eye at some eye diseases, and also gives the chance to distinguish an accommodation spasm from true short-sightedness at diagnosis.

Cyclohoney easily gets through an eye conjunctiva. Tsiklopentolat reaches the maximum pharmacological activity in 20-30 minutes after a single instillation of Tsiklomed. In responses to Tsiklomed it is said that the pupil remains expanded for 7-12 hours after a drug instillation, and in some cases and much longer. The residual phenomena of paresis of accommodation can remain for days after an instillation of drops.

Judging by responses, Cyclohoney has spasmolytic effect, reduces secretion of gastric glands, salivary, sweat, bronchial glands and a pancreas. Drug in medical doses exerts the stimulating impact on a nervous system (it is shown 30-60 minutes later after a drug instillation), promoting increase in intraocular pressure and decrease in a tone of a vagus nerve that leads to development of tachycardia and slight increase of arterial pressure.

Indications to Tsiklomed's use

According to the instruction Cyclohoney or Tsiklomed's analogs are applied when determining a refraction, at an oftalmoskopiya; in preoperative preparation (a mydriasis before extraction of a cataract). Besides, Cyclohoney is applied in complex treatment of a sclerite, episcleritis, iridocyclitis, keratitis, uveites – inflammatory diseases of an eye (front department).

The instruction to use

According to the instruction Cyclohoney is applied locally, digging in 1-2 drops of drug in a conjunctival cavity.

At inflammatory processes dig in in an eye on one drop of drug three times a day. The raised Tsiklomed's dosage - on 1 drop is in some cases allowed each three-four hours. During a solution instillation in a conjunctival cavity it is necessary to press the lower lacrimal opening to avoid Tsiklomed's hit in a nasopharynx.

For holding a procedure of a research of an eyeground one-three times a day are enough to dig in on one drop of solution Cyclohoney.

With a refraction research objective at teenagers and children appoint on one drop of drug two-three times a day.

Contraindications to use

• hypersensitivity to any component of drug;
• glaucoma.

With care Cyclohoney is appointed at pregnancy, impassability of intestines, a prostate hyperplasia, to patients of old age, and also children up to three years.

Side effects of Tsiklomed

Judging by reviews of Tsiklomeda and Tsiklomed's analogs, effects from prolonged use of drops can be the following: emergence of dizziness, nausea, drowsiness, a headache, dryness in a mouth, a hyperemia of a conjunctiva, a sensation of discomfort after a solution instillation, and also decrease in visual acuity of temporality.

Overdose effects drug

Judging by responses to Tsiklomed, at overdose of drug the following symptoms can appear: dryness of mucous membranes and skin, psychological disturbances (a disorientation in space, increased fatigue, disturbance of the speech, emotional disturbances).

At use not to destination of the drug Effect Cyclohoney can be irreversible (oppression of function of breath up to a coma or a lethal outcome).

Medicinal interaction of Tsiklomed

Metazones and other sympathomimetics strengthen medical effect of drug. Pilocarpinum and other m cholinomimetics weaken Tsiklomed's action.

One-time use of Tsiklomed and other m-holinoblokatorov can strengthen his side effects.

Special instructions

Medical action of drops is weakened at patients with a dark pigment of an iris of the eye.

Patients of old age at Tsiklomed's use are recommended to control indicators of intraocular pressure carefully.

Patients with hypersensitivity to atropine do not give a cross allergy to the drug Cyclomedical.

With a resistant or semi-resistant spasm of accommodation it is more preferable to children to apply a course of instillations of Atropini sulfas to a tsikloplegiya – Tsiklomed's analog.

Storage conditions

To store in the dry, protected from beams of the sun place, at a temperature not less than 25 °C.

Period of storage – 2 years.
