Dufalak

Dufalak – the synthetic laxative drug used for recovery of functions of intestines, treatment of chronic locks and reduction of formation of toxins at a liver failure.

Pharmacological action

Active ingredient of Dufalak – lactulose which is synthesized from lactose of fermented milk products.

Gets into a large intestine in an invariable look where interacts with an indestinal flora. Being split in a large intestine on organic acids, stimulates a peristaltics, eliminating a lock, and also recovers a physiological rhythm of bowel emptying. Strengthens growth of lactobacilli and bifidobacteria and suppresses growth of pathogenic bacteriums (colibacillus, clostridiums) that promotes improvement of balance of an indestinal flora. Improves digestion of phosphates and salts of calcium, suppresses growth of salmonellas. Reducing the content of ammonia in blood are used at treatment of a liver failure. It is widely applied in pediatrics.

Release form

Release Dufalak in the form of transparent viscous colourless syrup. 100 ml of drug contain 66,7 g of lactulose and the purified water as excipient.

In one-time bags on 15 ml, on 10 bags in cardboard packaging; in polyethylene bottles on 200 ml, 500 ml, 1000 ml with a measured glass in a set.

Indications to Dufalak's use

Dufalak apply at:

• Hepatic encephalopathy;
• Intestinal dysbiosis;
• Syndrome of putrefactive dispersion after acute food poisonings at children;
• The enteritis caused by salmonellas;
• Locks: for regulation of a physiological rhythm of emptying of a large intestine; for a chair softening for carrying out operations in an anus or on a large intestine, or at hemorrhoidal nodes.

Contraindications

According to the instruction Dufalak is contraindicated at:

• Intestinal impassability;
• Hypersensitivity to drug;
• Disbolism when transforming a galactose to glucose (galactosemia).

With care Dufalak apply at:

• Diabetes mellitus;
• Lactose intolerances;
• To hepatic prekoma;
• Not diagnosed rectal bleedings.

Application instruction of Dufalak

According to the instruction Dufalak accept inside in the morning during food in a divorced or not divorced look. The dose can be divided into 2 receptions.

At treatment of locks, and also in the medical purposes Dufalak apply to a chair softening:

• Adult – 15-45 ml, a maintenance dose – 15-30 ml;
• Children are from 7 to 14 years old – 15 ml, a maintenance dose – 10-15 ml;
• To children from 1 to 6 years appoint an initial and maintenance dose – 5-10 ml;
• Dufalak for newborns aged about one year apply of 5 ml to an initial and maintenance dose. During treatment by drug emergence of frustration of a reflex of emptying is possible.

The effect of Dufalak's use according to reviews usually occurs in 2 days. Therefore the dose can be lowered. If improvement did not occur, then increase a dose or frequency of reception.

At treatment of a shigellosis and salmonellosis the first 10-12 days apply 15 ml 3 times a day. After a seven-day break follows, without changing a single dose, to increase the number of receptions to 5 times a day.

At treatment of a hepatic coma and prekoma the initial dose makes 30–45 ml 3 times a day. Then the dose is reconsidered individually and selected in order that the soft chair was 2-3 times a day. In acute cases drug is appointed in the form of enemas for what it is dissolved in the ratio by 300 ml of drug on 700 ml of water.

Dufalak for newborns till 1 year at treatment of an intestinal dysbiosis appoint 1,5-3 ml a day. For children from a year to 3 years the dose makes 3 ml, from 4 to 7 years – 5 ml, 7 years and adult – 10 ml are more senior.

Side effects

According to reviews Dufalak is had well by both adults, and children.

In the first days emergence of a meteorism which usually passes in several days is possible. Also nausea, an abdominal pain or vomiting can be observed. At Dufalak's use in high doses there can be diarrhea and disturbances of electrolytic balance.

At overdose there can be diarrhea and an abdominal pain.

There are no data on Dufalak's interaction with other medicines.

Drug is safe at treatment of locks at a diabetes mellitus and does not demand additional adjustments.

Dufalak it is possible to apply according to indications at pregnancy and in the period of a lactation.
