Ferroplexum – the drug which is a hemogenesis stimulator.

Means is issued Упаковка Ферроплекс in dosage forms: a dragee, tablets, coated and tablets of the prolonged action, coated.

Active agents of Ferroplexum according to the instruction are heptahydrate of ferrous sulfate and ascorbic acid. Auxiliary components of drug are presented by monohydrate of lactose (84 mg), potato starch (20 mg), talc (4,5 mg), sucrose (4,5 mg), gelatin (3 mg) and stearin (4 mg). Sucrose (125,8 mg), magnesium oxide (16,6 mg), talc (46,5 mg), vegetable oil (6,3 mg) and arabic gum (acacia gum) – 4,8 mg are a part of a cover of Ferroplexum.

Pharmacological action

Being the combined drug, Ferroplexum compensates for the iron deficiency of an organism, and the ascorbic acid which is its part improves absorption of substance from digestive tract – preferential, from distal department of a small bowel. At decrease in content of iron in an organism intensity of absorption of a microelement increases.

Indications to use of Ferroplexum

According to the instruction Ferroplexum is appointed as prophylactic in the presence of iron deficiency states at pregnancy, in the period of a lactation, at unbalanced and defective food, during acute or chronic blood losses (including, in the presence of peptic ulcers of a duodenum and stomach). Besides, according to notes in responses to Ferroplexum, drug is effective during recovery after a serious illness, during the intensive growth of an organism, and also at chronic diarrhea.

Contraindications

Ferroplexum and analogs of drug are not recommended for the use with hypersensitivity to means components, bleedings, the increased content of iron in an organism (hemochromatosis, a hemosiderosis), at aplastic anemia (disturbance of the mechanism of utilization of iron), after a stomach resection, at children's age up to 12 years. According to responses Ferroplexum is successfully applied at pregnancy and during the lactic period.

Side effects of Ferroplexum

The number of side effects of Ferroplexum and analogs includes vomiting, nausea, diarrhea or locks, a loss of appetite, a gastralgia, skin allergic manifestations. At overdose similar symptoms can be shown by drug. Treatment is performed so: the stomach is washed out by 1% aqueous solution of hydrosodium carbonate, Deferoxaminum, milk and crude eggs providing binding of ions of iron in digestive tract and their subsequent removal inside are accepted.

Ferroplexum route of administration

Tablets and a dragee Драже Ферроплекс of Ferroplexum, according to the instruction, are accepted inside, washing down 100 ml of drinking water for half an hour to food – without chewing. The standard dosage of Ferroplexum for adults makes 100-200 mg/days at treatment, at prevention and as a maintenance therapy – 100 mg/days.

Special instructions

According to reviews to Ferroplexum drug is effective only at an iron deficiency anemia, at anemias of other etymologies of medical action means is not capable to render. It is recommended to avoid co-administration of Ferroplexum with other medicines containing iron in order to avoid risk of overdose. Against the background of reception of Ferroplexum coloring a calla in black color is possible.

Absorption of drug is reduced by the egg yolk, tea, D-Penicillaminum, tetracyclines and antacids containing salts of magnesium and calcium.
