International name: Ofloxacin.

Composition of drug and form of release of Floksal

Floksal of a drop

Active agent - ofloxacin (3 mg on 1 ml of drug). Excipients: sodium hydroxide, sodium chloride, Acidum hydrochloricum, chloride a benzalkoniya, water for injections. Is issued in a plastic bottle with a dropper. Drug colourless, sometimes with a subtle yellow shade.

Floksal ointment

Active agent - ofloxacin (3 mg on 1 ml of drug). Excipients: liquid paraffin, lanolin, white vaseline. Drug of a homogeneous consistence with a subtle yellow shade. Is issued in the aluminum tubes containing 3 g of substance.

Pharmacological action of Floksal

Floksal – antibacterial means, is used as local therapy at ophthalmologic diseases. The operating drug ofloxacin, an antibiotic from group of ftorkhinolon. Antimicrobic effect of drug is caused by its inhibition of DNK-girazy enzymes in microbic cells.

As well as its analogs, Floksal is highly active in relation to the majority of gram-negative bacteria: Serratiaspp., Morganellamorganii, Neisseriameningitidis, Shigellaspp., Esherichiacoli, Proteusspp., Neisseriagonorrhoeae, Klebsiellaspp., Salmonellaspp., Hemophilusinfluenzae, Legionellapneumophila, Citrobacterspp., Acinetobacterspp., Providenciaspp., Chlamydiaspp., Mycoplasmaspp., Yersiniaspp., Enterobacterspp.

From gram-positive bacteria to drug Staphylococcusspp.i Streptococcusspp are sensitive.

Moderate sensitivity to drug is shown by Pseudomonasspp., Enterococcusfaecalis and Streptococcuspneumoniae.

Pharmacokinetics

Therapeutic concentration of substance in tissues of an eye is reached by topical administration.

Indications to Floksal's use

Floksal for topical administration at the infectious and inflammatory diseases caused by microorganisms sensitive to drug is used such as -

• barley;
• conjunctivitis;
• blepharitis;
• keratitis;
• dacryocystitis;
• chlamydial infection of eyes
• helcoma;

And also as prevention of infection at surgical intervention in eyes and at лечениитравм an eyeglobe.

Contraindications

As well as its analogs, Floksal is not recommended at individual intolerance of ftorkhinolon, and also at pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Side effects of Floksal

The comments received as a result of Floksal's use showed possible manifestations of side effects in the form of allergic reactions, burning sensation, an itch and dryness of a conjunctiva, passing hyperemia of a conjunctiva, photophobia, discomfort in eyes, dacryagogues. In rare instances can cause dizziness.

About overdose of responses by Floksal it was not received.

Special instructions

There are no data on possible of a vozdeystviipreparat on fetation, however use Floksal the instruction is not recommended to pregnant women of drug.

The instruction Floksal is not recommended to use contact lenses during therapy. For prevention of a photophobia it is desirable to use light-protective points or to avoid places with bright lighting.

Drivers of vehicles should consider a possible temporary vision disorder after drug application.

Floksal routes of administration

Parallel use of drops and ointment Floksal is allowed, at the same time at first it is necessary to dig in drops. If Floksal combine with other ophthalmologic drugs, then it is necessary to observe an interval at least 5 minutes between use of different drugs.

Floksal of a drop:

Make instillations in the lower conjunctival sac on 1 drop 2-4 times a day. General course of therapy no more than 14 days.

Floksal ointment:
