Glutaminic acid

Glutaminic acid – nootropic drug for improvement of metabolism of a brain.

Form of release and structure

Dosage form – tablets: round, biconvex, in a film cover of yellow color, white or white with a subtle shade, under a cover two layers (on 10 pieces in a blister strip packaging from aluminum or polyvinylchloride, in a cardboard pack of 6 packagings; on 60 pieces in banks from polymer, in a cardboard pack of 1 bank).

Active ingredient – glutaminic acid, in 1 tablet – 250 mg.

Auxiliary components: povidone, potato starch, stearate calcium monohydrate, talc.

Structure of a film cover: povidone, sucrose, silicon dioxide colloid, titanium dioxide, beeswax, talc, liquid paraffin.

Indications to use

Use of Glutaminic acid is shown as a part of complex treatment of the following pathologies:

  • Epilepsy, generally at small attacks with epileptic equivalents, psychoses (intoksikatsionny, somatogenic, involutional), schizophrenia, effects of encephalitis or meningitis, sleeplessness, mental exhaustion, reactive depressions, the progressing myopathy, a depression;
  • Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, delay of mental development of various genesis, effect of a birth intracranial trauma, recovery and acute period of poliomyelitis;
  • Toxic neuropathy at use of hydrazides of isonicotinic acid (including an isoniazid).

Contraindications

  • Peptic ulcer of a stomach and duodenum;
  • Renal and/or liver failure;
  • Nephrotic syndrome;
  • Oppression of a marrowy hemopoiesis;
  • Anemia;
  • Hyperexcitability, rough course of mental reactions;
  • Obesity;
  • Feverish states;
  • Hypersensitivity to drug components.

Route of administration and dosage

Pill is taken orally in 15-30 minutes prior to food. In case of development in the patient of symptoms of dyspepsia administration of drug in time or right after food is recommended.

Duration of a course of treatment is appointed by the doctor on the basis of clinical indications, it can make from 1-2 months to 1 year.

Drug 2-3 times a day accept, amount of glutaminic acid in one step: adult – 1000 mg; children, depending on age:

  • Till 1 year – 100 mg;
  • From 1 to 2 years – 150 mg;
  • From 3 to 4 years – 250 mg;
  • From 5 to 6 years – 400 mg;
  • From 7 to 9 years – 500-1000 mg;
  • 10 years are also more senior – 1000 mg.

At treatment of an oligophrenia drug is accepted within several months, dosing is appointed at the rate of 100-200 mg to 1 kg of weight of the child.

Side effects

During use of Glutaminic acid manifestation of side effects in the form of a hyperexcitability, nausea, vomiting, a liquid chair, abdominal pains, excitement of the central nervous system, allergic reactions is possible.

Long administration of drug can lead to irritation of a mucous membrane of an oral cavity, cracks on lips, to decrease in level of hemoglobin, a leukopenia.

Special instructions

During treatment regular carrying out the general laboratory researches of urine and blood is recommended.

In case of symptoms of side effect it is necessary to lower a drug dose.

Medicinal interaction

Glutaminic acid can be used for elimination of neurotoxic effect of other medicines.

To store in the dry, protected from light place at a temperature up to 25 °C. To protect from children.
