Kestin – _H1 blocker - histamine receptors, antiallergic drug.

Form of release and structure

• Tablets, film coated: round, white color, with an engraving of "E10" (a tablet of 10 mg) or "E20" (a tablet of 20 mg) on one of the parties (10 mg – on 5 or 10 pieces in the blister, in a cardboard box 1 blister; 20 mg – on 10 pieces in the blister, in a cardboard box 1 or 2 blisters);
• The tablets lyophilized: round, white or almost white color (on 10 pieces in the blister, in a cardboard pack 1 blister);
• Syrup: colourless or slightly yellowish, transparent, with an anise smell (on 60 or 120 mg in dark glass bottles, in a cardboard pack 1 bottle complete with the measured syringe).

Active ingredient – эбастин:

• 1 tablet, coated – 10 or 20 mg;
• 1 tablet lyophilized – 20 mg;
• 5 ml of syrup – 5 mg.

Excipients:

• Tablets, coated: cellulose microcrystallic, magnesium stearate, starch corn, polyethyleneglycol 6000, a gidroksipropilmetiltsellyuloz, titanium dioxide, sodium the carboxymethylcellulose structured lactoses monohydrate;
• The tablets lyophilized: gelatin, aspartame, Mannitolum, fragrance mint;
• Syrup: neohesperidin dihydrochalcone, a glitserol oxystearate, p-propenyl anisole, lactic acid of 85%, sodium пропилпарагидроксибензоат, sodium hydroxide, глицерол, solution of sorbitol of 70%, dimethyl polysiloxane, sodium methylparahydroxybenzoate, the water distilled.

Indications to use

• Small tortoiseshell (including caused by household, food-borne, epidermal, medicinal, pollen and insektny allergens, and also impact of cold, the sun, etc.);
• The seasonal and/or year-round allergic rhinitis (caused by food-borne, household, medicinal, epidermal and/or pollen allergens);
• Other allergic states and diseases caused by the increased release of a histamine.

Contraindications

For all dosage forms:

• Pregnancy;
• Lactation;
• Hypersensitivity to drug components.

In addition for tablets, coated:

• Lactose intolerance, deficit of lactase, glyukozo-galaktozny malabsorption;
• Children's age up to 12 years.

In addition for the tablets lyophilized:

• Fenilketonuriya;
• Children's age up to 15 years.

With care Kestin the patients with a hypopotassemia increased by a QT interval, a liver and/or renal failure should apply.

Route of administration and dosage

Tablets, coated

• Tablets in a dose of 10 mg: adults and children are more senior than 12 years – on 1-2 pieces a day;
• Tablets in a dose of 20 mg: adults and teenagers are more senior than 15 years – on ½-1 to a tablet in days, children of 12-15 years – on ½ tablets.

The tablets lyophilized
Kestin it is necessary to keep in this dosage form in an oral cavity before full dissolution, regardless of meals. To wash down tablets there is no need.

The lyophilized tablets are appointed to adults and teenagers 15 years on 1 piece of 1 times a day are more senior.

Syrup

The recommended doses:

• Children of 6-12 years: 5 ml;
• Teenagers of 12-15 years: 10 ml;
• Teenagers are more senior than 15 years and adults: 10-20 ml.

The maximum daily dose of 20 mg can be appointed only by the doctor.

Side effects

• Nervous system: 1-3,7% – drowsiness, a headache; less than 1% – sleeplessness;
• Alimentary system: 1-3,7% – dryness of a mucous membrane of an oral cavity; less than 1% – nausea, dyspepsia, abdominal pains;
• Respiratory system: less than 1% – rhinitis, sinusitis;
• Others: less than 1% – allergic reactions, an asthenic syndrome.

Special instructions

To children of 6-12 years Kestin in the form of syrup (5 mg a day) or tablets, coated (in a dose of 10 mg is more preferable to appoint (1 tablet 10 mg or ½ tablets of 20 mg) in days).

The daily dose for patients with an abnormal liver function should not exceed 10 mg.

In therapeutic doses drug does not exert a negative impact on ability to concentration of attention and speed of reactions. Medicinal interaction

Kestin it is not necessary to apply along with erythromycin and ketokonazoly as there is a probability of lengthening of an interval of QT.

Ebastin does not interact with diazepam, Cimetidinum, indirect anticoagulants, theophylline, ethanol and etanolsoderzhashchy drugs.

Terms and storage conditions

To store in the place, unavailable to children, at a temperature: coated tablets – to 30 ºС, the lyophilized tablets – to 25 ºС, syrup – 15-25 ºС.
