Ketocash

The ketocash is the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug applied at symptomatic therapy of diseases of a musculoskeletal system and also for elimination of a pain syndrome of various origin.

Pharmacological action of Ketonal

The ketocash has antiinflammatory, soothing and febrifugal properties.

Effect of ketoprofen, active agent of Ketonal, caused ability of drug to raise a pain threshold due to suppression of synthesis of bradikinin, to stabilize lizosomalny membranes and to detain release from them of enzymes which at a chronic inflammation promote destruction of fabrics.

The maximum concentration of ketoprofen in blood can be observed in 1,5-2 hours after use Ketonal of tablets, in 65-80 minutes after use rectal suppository and in 5 minutes at intravenous administration.

About 90% of Ketonal are brought by a liver, an elimination half-life – about 2 hours. The slowed-down Ketonal's removal at a renal failure demands dose adjustment for patients with such disease.

Indications to use

The instruction recommends to appoint Ketonal at such degenerative and inflammatory diseases of a musculoskeletal system as:

• psoriasis arthritis (an inflammation of joints during psoriasis);
• pseudorheumatism (inflammatory and destructive damage of large and small joints of extremities);
• Bekhterev's disease (permanent restriction of mobility of a backbone with possible involvement in inflammatory process of internals);
• osteoarthrosis (the disease of joints provoked by defeat of their cartilaginous tissue);
• подагрическтй arthritis (the disease of joints caused by adjournment in various fabrics of salts of uric acid).

Ketonal's use is reasonable also at:

• muscle pains;
• neuralgia (the defeat of peripheral nerves which is followed by pain attacks);

• joint pains;

Application instruction of Ketonal

The ketocash is issued in the forms intended for intake: capsules, tablets, granules for suspension preparation.

For intramuscular pricks Ketonal is used in the form of solution or lyophilisate for solution preparation. By an intravenous way only solution is entered. For external use Ketonal is issued in the form of gel, cream, spray and solution. Candles Ketonal are intended for rectal use.

The instruction recommends to accept capsules Ketonal three times a day on 1 piece (50 mg), without exceeding a daily dose in 300 mg. At an osteoarthritis and a pseudorheumatism on 50 mg of drug accept four times a day. It is necessary to wash down Ketonal with enough milk or water, it is recommended to accept drug during food. The capsules Ketonal Duo containing 150 mg of ketoprofen usually accept 1 piece once a day, and in need of purpose of high doses of drug to short term increase in number of receptions up to two times a day is possible.

Tablets Ketonal appoint usually 1-2 times a day 1 piece (150 mg), without exceeding a daily dose in 300 mg. Treatment duration – two weeks, if necessary duration of use of drug can be increased by the doctor. A pill Ketonal should be taken in time or right after food, washing down with water in enough.

Candles Ketonal which use can be combined with reception of tablets or capsules are usually appointed on 1 piece (100 mg) in the morning and in the evening.

Intramuscular Ketonal pricks are standardly appointed 1-3 times a day on 1 ampoule (100 mg). Intravenously Ketonal injections have to be given only in the conditions of a hospital. At discontinuous introduction 1-2 ampoules of drug part 100 ml of "physical solution" and enter within half an hour-hour. At continuous introduction the same number of Ketonal is parted in 500 ml of "physical solution" or glucose and entered for 8 hours. Repeated intravenous Ketonal pricks are entered in 8 hours.

Gel and cream Ketonal are intended for external topical administration. These forms of drug apply at a joint pain and muscles which were caused by damages or injuries, and also at a tendovaginitis (an inflammation of a sinew and its cover). The ketocash cream should be applied on affected areas 2 times a day, and gel – 1 or 2 times. The occlusive bandage is not recommended to be used. The maximum daily dose – 200 mg (10 cm of cream Ketonal). Treatment duration – 7-10 days.

Side effects

According to the instruction, Ketonal can be the cause of the following undesirable phenomena:

• abdominal pain, disturbances of a chair, vomiting, nausea, dryness in a mouth, stomatitis, an abnormal liver function, gastrointestinal bleedings;
• nervousness, fatigue, headache, migraine, sleep disorder, dizziness, alalia;
• taste change, sonitus, conjunctivitis, deterioration in sight, eye pain;
• arterial hypertension, tachycardia, peripheral hypostases;
• anemia, agranulocytosis, thrombocytopenia;
• the nephrotic syndrome, renal failure, availability of blood in urine is a lot of;
• allergic reactions on skin, an asthma, a bronchospasm, rhinitis, a Quincke's disease.

Ketocash cream and gel can provoke vascular hypostasis, a small tortoiseshell, skin rash, a skin necrosis, dermatitis.

Contraindications to Ketonal's use

Ketonal's use is forbidden at hypersensitivity, "aspirinovy" asthma, a peptic ulcer, ulcer colitis, a round ulcer, a diverticulitis (protrusion of an intestinal wall), a disease Krone (an inflammation of a digestive tract which all its departments can be struck), disturbances of a blood coagulation, a chronic disease of kidneys.

According to the instruction, Ketonal is contraindicated to children 14 years, to pregnant women and the nursing women are younger.

With care Ketonal is appointed to the patients having bronchial asthma, anemia, alcoholism, alcoholic cirrhosis, a liver failure, sepsis, a diabetes mellitus, arterial hypertension, hypostases, stomatitis, blood diseases. Ketonal's use by patients of old age has to happen to destination and under control of the doctor.
