In technological processes it is used as a thickener, substance for capsulation, the stabilizer, the moisture-holding agent, a geleobrazovatel.

In medicine sodium alginate is used as an enterosorbent, it is capable to connect and bring well out of an organism radionuclides and heavy metals. Also this substance is useful for what promotes healing of wounds, reduces cholesterol level in blood.

Property of sodium of alginate as stabilizer is widely used in production of emulsions, creams and lotions in cosmetology. In production of some ointments and lipsticks also not to do without this substance.

In the food industry of sodium alginate is known as E401 nutritional supplement. It has valuable quality to give viscosity and degree of structure to fluid mediums. Using alginate sodium as nutritional supplement make:
