Papazolum

Papazolum belongs to the category of drugs spasmolysants.

Papazolum, in addition to spasmolytic action, renders also hypotensive and arteriodilatiruyushchy effect.

International name: Papaverine + Bendazolum (Papaverine+Bendazol).

Structure and form of release

Papazolum is the combined drug. Active ingredients: a papaverine and Bendazolum (on 0,03 g).

Is issued in the form of tablets of white color, on 10 pieces in one packaging.

Pharmacological action

Bendazolum as a part of Papazolum is an antispasmodic of myotropic action. It influences an organism as follows:

• has hypotensive effect;
• has vazodilatiruyushchy effect;
• stimulates functions of a spinal cord;
• moderately stimulates immune activity.

The papaverine is also the antispasmodic having hypotensive effect. According to the instruction to Papazolum, a papaverine:

• causes FDE inhibition;

• promotes accumulation in tsAMF cell;
• reduces contents Sa2+;
• promotes decrease in a tone and relaxation of smooth muscles of a stomach, intestines, and also bodies of urinogenital and respiratory systems;
• promotes decrease in a tone and relaxation of smooth muscles and vessels.

The high dose of Papazolum suppresses excitability of a cardiac muscle and promotes delay of endocardiac conductivity.

Drug practically does not exert impact on the central nervous system. The high dose can cause sedation.

Medical effect of reception of Papazolum consist:

• in vasodilatation of heart and brain;
• in a lowering of arterial pressure;
• in relaxation of smooth muscles of a stomach and intestines.

Indications

Use of Papazolum can be necessary in the following cases:

• at labile arterial hypertension;
• if the spasm of peripheral arteries and/or vessels of a brain is observed;
• at spasms of unstriated muscles of internals (including such diseases as stomach ulcer, a duodenum ulcer, the gatekeeper's spasms, intestinal gripes, cholecystitis, a spastic colitis);
• if residual displays of poliomyelitis are observed;
• at a flaccid paralysis of a facial nerve.

Contraindications to use of Papazolum

The drug Papazolum is not appointed in the following cases:

• at hypersensitivity to its components;
• if disturbances of AV of conductivity are observed;
• at an epileptic syndrome;
• at a bronkhoobstruktivny syndrome;
• to children aged up to one year.

With care Papazolum can be appointed: at the lowered intestines peristaltics, at craniocereberal injuries, a liver and renal failure, a hypothyroidism, adrenal insufficiency, a prostatauxe, during the periods of pregnancy and feeding by a breast.

Way and features of reception

Adult patients drink on one tablet of Papazolum 2 or 3 times a day in two hours prior to meal or in two hours after it.

Duration of a course of treatment depends on specific features of the patient and character of a course of a disease. As a rule, reviews of Papazolum confirm it, it makes from 2 to 4 weeks (at adults).

The dosage of drug and duration of a course of treatment at children are defined by the attending physician.

Safety of Papazolum for pregnant women and the feeding women is not established.

Indications to Papazolum are defined by the attending physician.

During treatment reception of alcoholic beverages has to be excluded by drug.

Side reactions from reception of Papazolum

According to medical responses, Papazolum can cause:

• allergic reactions;
• nausea;
• locks;
• increase in sweating;
• dizziness;
• AV blockade;
• arrhythmia;
• decrease in contractility of a myocardium.

Interaction with other drugs

The concomitant use of Papazolum with drugs of spasmolytic action, sedative drugs, diuretics, tricyclic antidepressants, novokainamidy, Reserpinum, quinidine sulfate can strengthen manifestation of hypotensive effect.

Papazolum promotes decrease in action on smooth muscles of antikholinesterazny drugs, reduces antiparkinsonichesky action of a levodopa.

The concomitant use with nitrofurantoin can promote development of hepatitis.

The adsorbents, drugs possessing the knitting and enveloping action reduce absorbability of Papazolum.

Rules of storage of Papazolum

Drug is good for use within 5 years of date of issue.

Optimum temperature condition for storage – temperature is below 25 °C.
