Tablets, coated: biconvex, round, intensively orange, yellow, pink and green color, impregnations are possible (on 15 pieces in blisters, on 2 or 4 blisters in a cardboard pack);
Syrup for children: dense, viscous, from brownish-orange till light yellow color, has a smell of a citrus and acid taste, presence of slightly visible inclusions is allowed (on 150 ml in dark glass bottles, on 1 bottle in a cardboard pack complete with the dosing spoon).

Active agents are a part of 1 tablet:

Vitamin A (Retinolum palmitate) – 600 IU (international units);
D3 vitamin (колекальциферол) – 80 ME;
Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) – 10 mg;
B1 vitamin (thiamin mononitrate) – 0,25 mg;
B2 vitamin (Riboflavinum) – 0,3 mg;
B5 vitamin (calcium pantothenate) – 1,2 mg;
B6 vitamin (pyridoxine hydrochloride) – 0,3 mg;
Bc vitamin (folic acid) – 0,04 mg;
B12 vitamin (cyanocobalamine) – 0,0002 mg;
PP vitamin (niacinamide) – 3 mg;
Phosphorus ^(P5+) – 10 mg;
Calcium ^(Ca2+) – 12,5 mg.

Auxiliary components: глицерол, monohydrate of lactose, fragrance orange oil 05073, emulsion wax, polysorbate 80 (twin 80), sorbitol, crude castor oil, anhydrous citric acid, liquid dextrose (dry matter), magnesium stearate, sucrose, liquid paraffin, defoaming agent 1510, povidone.

Additional components:

Tablet of orange color: dye yellow sunset 06080 (E110), titanium dioxide (E171);
Tablet of yellow color: dye yellow sunset 06080 (E110), dye quinolinic yellow (E104), titanium dioxide (E171);
Tablet of pink color: dye crimson Ponso 4 R (E124), titanium dioxide (E171);
Tablet of green color: dye indigo carmine (E132), dye yellow quinolinic (E104), titanium dioxide (E171).

D3 vitamin (колекальциферол) – 100 ME;
Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) – 50 mg;
B1 vitamin (thiamin hydrochloride) – 1 mg;
B2 vitamin (Riboflavinum (in the form of sodium phosphate)) – 1 mg;
B5 vitamin (декспантенол (D-panthenol)) – 2 mg;
B6 vitamin (pyridoxine hydrochloride) – 0,6 mg;
B12 vitamin (cyanocobalamine) – 0,001 mg;
PP vitamin (niacinamide) – 5 mg.

Auxiliary components: an agar, tragacanth gum, sucrose, glucose (dextrose) liquid, orange oil, grapefruit and orange fragrances, polysorbate 80 (twin 80), monohydrate of citric acid, crimson dye (Ponso 4R) (E124), sodium benzoate, the purified water.

Indications to use

Pekovite is appointed to children as prophylactic at states which are followed by the increased need for vitamins:

Overfatigue at children of school age;
The raised loadings (physical and psychological);
The recovery period after the postponed diseases, and also for increase in body resistance to catarrhal and infectious diseases;
Lack of appetite and irregular, defective or uniform food.

Also drug is shown as a part of complex treatment at use of chemotherapeutic and antibiotic medicines.

Contraindications

Hypervitaminosis of A and D;
Diabetes mellitus (for syrup, in 5 ml of syrup 3000 mg of sugar contain);
Hypersensitivity to drug components.

Route of administration and dosage

Pekovite is accepted inside. Tablets need to be held in a mouth before full dissolution. Syrup can be accepted undiluted from a spoon or to mix a single dose with tea, fruit puree or juice.

The recommended dosing mode (1 teaspoon of syrup – 5 ml):

1-3 years: 2 times a day on 5 ml of syrup;
4-6 years: 4-5 times a day on 1 tablet or 3 times a day on 5 ml of syrup;
7-14 years: 5-7 times a day on 1 tablet or 3-4 times a day on 5 ml of syrup.

The average duration of a therapeutic course – 20-30 days. According to the recommendation of the doctor carrying out repeated courses is possible (usually – with an interval of 1-3 months).

In case of lack of appetite of Pikovit it is possible to accept daily: syrup – 1 month, tablets – 2 months.

Side effects

Possible side effects during therapy: allergic reactions.

It is not necessary to exceed the daily dose of Pikovit recommended in the instruction. At accidental reception of the raised dose it is necessary to consult immediately with the specialist.

Special instructions

Urine as a result of Pikovit's reception can be painted in yellow color. It does not pose a threat to health and is connected with existence in composition of drug of Riboflavinum.

As glucose and sucrose (tablets and syrup), and also lactose and sorbitol (tablets) is a part of drug, it is not recommended to accept Pikovit in any dosage form to children with inborn intolerance of fructose and glucose, sprues of galactose/glucose and deficit of isomaltase/invertase.

E124 azoic dye (tablets and syrup), and also E110 azoic dye (tablets) which can cause reactions of hypersensitivity with an asthmatic component is Pikovit's part. Such disturbances were in most cases noted against the background of hypersensitivity to acetylsalicylic acid.

High doses of the glitserol which is an auxiliary component of tablets can lead to development of a headache and disturbances from digestive tract (in the form of diarrhea).

The benzoic acid which is a part of syrup has slaborazdrazhayushchy effect on mucous membranes and skin.

Medicinal interaction

The calcium which is a part of tablets of Pikovit can cause a delay of absorption of antibiotic drugs from group of tetracyclines, and also antimicrobic means which are derivatives of ftorkhinolon. In this regard it is necessary to observe a break between use of these drugs not less than 2 hours.

The combined use of tablets of Pikovit with diuretics from group of tiazid increases risk of development of a hypercalcemia.

The vitamin C which is a part of tablets and syrup strengthens action and side reactions of streptocides (including a crystalluria).

The combined use of Pikovit with other vitamin and mineral complexes is not recommended.
