The root of a celery is very useful at cardiovascular pathology. It is capable to reduce cholesterol level in blood thanks to what it is recommended at atherosclerosis. The celery root also improves work of a cardiac muscle, having some cardiotonic effect. Also it is useful at arterial hypertension as it is capable to reduce arterial pressure.

Nutritionists recommend to use a celery as a substitution dish (for example, instead of a fat rich dish it is more reasonable to eat a dish with a celery). The stable wastage of weight is in that case guaranteed. Freshly squeezed juice of a celery is very useful to weight loss. It can be drunk as in pure form, and mixing with other juice (apple, orange). For the people suffering from excess weight, such drink has to be in a daily diet.

Celery: contraindications to the use

There are certain restrictions in the use of a celery. In particular, it is not recommended to use a celery in a large number at an urolithiasis. It is connected with its ability to clear kidneys and to remove sand, and at sharp strengthening of this process emergence of the abdominal pain connected with passing of sand on ureters is possible. It is also not recommended to use celery juice in the third trimester of pregnancy, at allergic diseases, a hemorrhagic vasculitis, skin diseases. There are restrictions and in the use of a root of a celery. Contraindications are diseases of a thyroid gland, thrombophlebitis, a peptic ulcer of a stomach in an aggravation stage.
