Sotageksal

Sotageksal (the international name – Sotalol) treats group of beta adrenoblockers with antiarrhytmic action. Drug reduces heart rate and increases a muscle tone of bronchial tubes.

Structure and form of release

The main active ingredient – Sotalol of 80 mg.

Auxiliary components: starch, cellulose, lactose, silicon dioxide, magnesium stearate.

Sotageksal is issued in the form of tablets on 80 - 160 mg and solution for injections in ampoules on 4 ml.

Pharmacological action of Sotageksal

Sotageksal possesses hypotensive and antiarrhytmic action. Drug eliminates symptoms of coronary insufficiency and reduces the intracellular Ca2+ level.

As a result of the main components of Sotageksal excitability of a myocardium decreases and heart rate is normalized. At system administration of drug the hypotensive effect is reached, the arterial pressure and a blood stream in walls of auricles is normalized. The positive effect at a hypertension is reached within 2 - 4 days after the beginning of administration of drug.

At Sotageksal's reception oxygen exchange in fabrics increases, and also the factors causing arrhythmia including nervous irritability, supertension in walls of vessels of heart and disturbance of blood supply are eliminated.

Sotageksal's analogs

Anaprilin, Obsidanum, Corgardum and Inderal are Sotageksal's analogs. These drugs have similar pharmacological properties.

Indications to Sotageksal's use

Application instruction of Sotageksal

According to the instruction Sotageksal in the form of tablets it is necessary to accept 2 times a day 80 mg.

The initial dose of drug at a hypertension makes 80 mg, and further the attending physician increases a dosage to 160 mg a day.

At tachycardia Sotageksal is appointed on 80 mg 2 times a day, and after week reception the dosage raises to 160 mg 2 times a day.

The maximum daily dose of Sotageksal should not exceed 480 mg.

According to the instruction Sotageksal in the form of solution for injections it is necessary to enter 2-3 times a day 2 ml. Solution of drug is entered within 5-7 minutes. After the beginning of a course of treatment it is necessary to control the arterial pressure, heart rate, functioning of the alimentary system and urinary tract.

To patients with a liver and renal failure the dosage decreases twice. At emergence of the first signs of allergic reactions Sotageksal's reception should be cancelled immediately.

Contraindications

Contraindications to Sotageksal's appointment are hypersensitivity and intolerance of components of drug, cardiogenic shock, heart failure, bradycardia of sinus type, stenocardia, hypotonia, a myocardial infarction, a hypertrophy of heart, a disease of peripheral vessels of a brain, pregnancy and the period of a lactation.

With care drug is appointed at a liver failure, disbolism, psoriasis, a depression, at advanced and children's age.

Side effects of Sotageksal

Sotageksal can cause the following side effects:

• from the central nervous system – a headache, dizziness, drowsiness, increased fatigue, sleeplessness, alarming dreams, confusion of consciousness, a lack of coordination, hallucination, a tremor;
• from cardiovascular system – bradycardia, a cross heart block, a sharp lowering of arterial pressure, a vasomotor spasm, Reynaud's syndrome, sharp attacks of stenocardia, a hypopotassemia;
• from system of digestion – vomiting, nausea, diarrhea, dyspepsia, a meteorism, a liver failure;
• from respiratory system – laryngitis, bronchitis, spasms of bronchial tubes, rhinitis;
• from urinogenital system – decrease in a libido, disturbance of a menstrual cycle, painful ejaculations, decrease in a potentiality, disturbance of functioning of kidneys.

At Sotageksal's reception allergic reactions – an itch, urticaria, a Quincke's edema, an alopecia, the strengthened sweating, eczema, dermatitis, psoriasis can appear.
