Aphakia

Aphakia (aphakia; and - – otritsa. Greek phakos – lentil) – lack of a crystalline lens is frequent +; it is shown as a hypermetropia and inability of accommodation of an eye.

Allocate:

  • The aphakia inborn (aphakia congenita) – is caused by anomalies of development of an eye;
  • The aphakia acquired (aphakia acquisita) – arises owing to an injury or after surgical removal of a crystalline lens.
