Zitrolid

Zitrolid – an antibiotic of group of macroleads, being the representative of subgroup of azaleads.

Form of release and structure

Dosage form – capsules: the size No. 0, with the case of white color and a lid – yellow or orange-yellow; contents – powder from color, white to white with a creamy shade (on 6 pieces in planimetric strip packagings, 1 packaging in a cardboard pack; on 10 pieces in planimetric strip packagings, 10 packagings in a cardboard pack).

Active agent: azithromycin, in 1 capsule – 250 mg.

Additional substances: cellulose microcrystallic, magnesium stearate.

Structure of a cover: gelatin, azoruby, titanium dioxide, понсо 4R, quinolinic yellow.

Indications to use

Zitrolid – drug for treatment of the infectious and inflammatory diseases caused by microorganisms, sensitive to azithromycin:

• Infections of upper and lower respiratory tracts and ENT organs, including tonsillitis, pharyngitis, average otitis, quinsy, sinusitis, bronchitis, bacterial and atypical pneumonia;
• Infections of urinogenital system, including a cervicitis, an uncomplicated urethritis;
• The diseases of a stomach and 12-perstny gut associated with Helicobacter pylori (complex therapy);
• Infections of skin and soft tissues, including impetigo, ugly face for the second time infected a dermatosis;
• Scarlet fever;
• Initial stage of a disease Laima (borreliosis) – an erythema creeping (erythema migrans).

Contraindications

Absolute:

• Heavy liver/renal failure;
• Children's age up to 3 years;
• Lactation;
• Individual hypersensitivity to azithromycin or other drugs from group of macroleads.

Relative (the diseases/states demanding respect for extra care at Zitrolid's use in connection with the available risk of development of complications):

• Arrhythmias;
• The expressed renal failures or a liver (in pediatrics);
• Pregnancy.

Route of administration and dosage

Zitrolid it is necessary to accept in 1 times a day, on an empty stomach – in 1 hour prior to or 2 hours later after food.

The recommended daily doses for adults depending on indications:

• Respiratory infections: 500 mg, treatment duration – 3 days (i.e. the general course dose – 1500 mg);
• Infections of skin and soft tissues, and also I stage of a disease of Lyme: the 1st day – 1000 mg, further on 500 mg during the next 4 days (the general course dose – 3000 mg);
• Acute infections of urinogenital system: on 1000 mg once;
• The peptic ulcer associated with Helicobacter pylori (as a part of a combination therapy): on 1000 mg within 3 days.

The dose for children is determined depending on weight – at the rate of 10 mg on each kilogram of body weight of 1 times a day by a 3-day course or by the following scheme: the 1st day – 10 mg/kg, during the next 3-4 days – on 5-10 mg/kg.

To children for treatment of an initial stage of a disease of Lyme Zitrolid appoint according to such scheme: the 1st day – 20 mg/kg, during the next 4 days – on 10 mg/kg.

Side effects

• From the alimentary system: often (> 1%) – nausea, diarrhea, abdominal pains; seldom (≤1%) – a meteorism, dyspepsia, a melena, vomiting, increase in activity of hepatic transaminases, cholestatic jaundice; seldom at children – anorexia, taste change, locks, gastritis;
• From cardiovascular system: seldom – thorax pain, a heart consciousness;
• From the central nervous system: seldom – drowsiness, a headache, вертиго; seldom at children – uneasiness, a sleep disorder, neurosis, a hyperkinesia, at average otitis – a headache;
• From urinogenital system: seldom – nephrite, vaginal candidiasis;
• Allergic reactions: photosensitization, rash, Quincke's edema; seldom at children – urticaria, an itch, conjunctivitis.

Special instructions

Reactions of hypersensitivity at some patients can remain even after drug withdrawal, in this case performing specific therapy is required.

In need of simultaneous use of antacids between receptions it is necessary to do 2-hour breaks.

Medicinal interaction

• Digoxin: its concentration increases;
• Ergotamine, dihydroergotamine: their toxic action amplifies (it is shown by a dizesteziya and a vasospasm);
• To triazoles: its clearance decreases and action amplifies;
• Magnesium - and aluminum-bearing antacids, ethanol, food: azithromycin absorption is slowed down and decreases;
• Warfarin: strengthening of anticoagulating effect is possible (it is necessary to control carefully a prothrombin time);
• Linkozamina: efficiency of azithromycin decreases;
• Chloramphenicol, tetracycline: efficiency of azithromycin amplifies;
• Indirect anticoagulants, Cycloserinum, фелодипин, Methylprednisolonum and drugs which are exposed to a microsomal oxidation (peroral hypoglycemic means, ergot alkaloids, hexobarbital, valproic acid, cyclosporine, терфенадин, Disopyramidum, carbamazepine, Phenytoinum, Bromocriptinum, xanthine derivatives, including theophylline): their removal is slowed down, concentration in plasma and toxicity increases.

Terms and storage conditions

To store at a temperature up to 25 ºС. To protect from children. Not to subject to influence of moisture and a sunlight.

Period of validity – 3 years.
