Application instruction:
Азопт is protivoglaukomny (the reducing eye pressure) means.
Form of release and structure
Азопт is issued in the form of drops eye on the basis of a brinzolamid. Drops are on sale in plastic bottles of Drop Tainer on 5 ml with a dropper doser.
1 ml of 1% of suspension eye contains 10 mg of a brinzolamid.
Excipients:
- Chloride benzalkoniya;
- Mannitolum;
- Sodium chloride;
- Tiloksapol;
- The purified water;
- Acidum hydrochloricum and/or sodium hydroxide;
- Dinatrium эдетад;
- Carbomer (974P).
Brinzolamid gets into a system blood stream and is adsorbed in blood erythrocytes. It is removed together with urine.
Indications to use
Азопт according to the instruction appoint for decrease in intraocular pressure at eye hypertensia or an open angle glaucoma.
Action of drops is based on ability of active agent of drug to reduce products of intraocular liquid in an eye ciliary body therefore there is a decrease in eye pressure.
Contraindications
According to the instruction, Azopt it is forbidden to use at individual sensitivity to any component of drug.
Contraindication is the heavy renal failure as active ingredient and its metabolites are emitted with kidneys.
Data on safety and efficiency of treatment brinzolamidy at children's age are absent therefore to children it is not appointed.
Care is required at appointment to patients with a serious illness of a liver or closed-angle glaucoma as Azopt's use at these pathologies is not studied.
Route of administration and dosage
Азопт apply on 1 drop 2 times a day by an instillation in a conjunctival sac of the affected eye.
Before use the bottle should be stirred up.
Side effects
Drops of Azopt can cause the following side effects:
- Bitter or acid smack in a mouth, sight misting;
- Feeling of a foreign body or xerophthalmus, blepharitis, dermatitis, reddening, headaches, mucous allocations from eyes and a nose, an itch, pain;
- Conjunctivitis, keratoconjunctivitis, dacryagogue, defeat of a cornea, emergence of a crust on the edge of a century;
- Short wind, dizziness, thorax pain, increase in arterial pressure, diarrhea, nausea, digestion disturbances, dryness in a mouth, a back pain;
- Urticaria, pharyngitis, allergic reactions, alopecia.
At disturbance of the instruction there is a risk of development of a sensitization of an organism by streptocides.
At the accidental use of Azopt development of acidosis, disturbance of electrolytic balance and work of a nervous system is inside possible. In this case symptomatic therapy and control over the level of electrolytes and pH of blood is necessary.
Data on overdose of drug are absent.
Special instructions
It is not necessary to touch with a tip of a pipette of an open bottle any surfaces, including eyelids and skin of hands.
Benzalkoniya chloride is capable to be absorbed by contact lenses. Before use of drops of a lens it is necessary to remove and establish back in 15-20 minutes.
Right after Azopt's use can temporarily arise sight misting therefore it is necessary to be careful when driving vehicles and during the work with the equipment.
Analogs
Brinzolamid is not a part of other protivoglaukomny drugs.
Azopt's analogs on the mechanism of action are:

- Трусопт.
