Klopiksol

Klopiksol – the medicine having sedative, antipsychotic and antipsychotic effect.

Form of release and structure

Klopiksol is issued in the form of tablets, film coated: biconvex, round, light pink (on 2 mg), pinkish-brown (on 10 mg) or red-brown (on 25 mg); on cross section – white color (in plastic containers on 50 or 100 pieces, on 1 container in a cardboard pack).

Is a part of 1 tablet:

• Active agent: зуклопентиксол – 2, 10 or 25 mg (in the form of dihydrochloride of a zuklopentiksol – 2,364, 11,82 or 29,55 mg respectively);
• Auxiliary components (2/10/25 of mg respectively): the castor hydrogenated oil – 0,48/0,72/0,96 mg, potato starch – 22,2/29,2/31,6 mg, monohydrate of lactose – 17,4/21,6/22 mg, глицерол 85% – 1,2/1,8/2,4 mg, microcrystallic cellulose – 9/13,5/18 mg, коповидон – 3/4,5/6 mg, talc – 4,2/6,3/8,4 mg, magnesium stearate – 0,42/0,63/0,84 mg;
• Cover (2/10/25 of mg respectively): a gipromelloza 5 – 1,37/2,05/2,74 mg, a macrogoal 6000 – 0,274/0,411/0,548 mg, E172 (iron oxide red) – 0,011/0,205/0,822 mg, E171 (titanium dioxide) – 0,445/0,479/0,091 mg.

Indications to use

• Schizophrenia (chronic and acute) and other psychotic frustration which in particular are followed by hallucinations, disturbances of thinking and paranoid nonsense;
• Hostility, aggression, conditions of the increased concern, agitations;
• Maniac-depressive psychosis in a maniacal phase;
• The mental retardation proceeding with agitation, psychomotor arousing and other disorders of behavior;
• The senile weak-mindedness proceeding with behavior disorders, a disorientation, the paranoid ideas, confusion of consciousness.

Contraindications

Absolute:

• Comas;
• Acute intoxication barbiturates, alcohol and opioid analgetics.

Relative (Klopiksol appoint with care):

• Chronic hepatitis;
• Heart diseases (including with arrhythmias);
• Convulsive syndrome;
• Hypersensitivity to drug components.

Pregnant women and the feeding women are not recommended to apply Klopiksol.

Route of administration and dosage

Klopiksol accept inside.

The doctor appoints the dosing mode individually depending on a condition of the patient, the daily dose can be divided into several receptions.

At the beginning of therapy Klopiksol in low doses is recommended to accept. Depending on reaction to treatment its bystry increase up to achievement of optimum clinical effect is possible.

The recommended mode of dosing (daily dose):

• Bad attacks of schizophrenia and other acute psychotic frustration, the expressed agitation and manias: 10-50 mg;
• Psychotic frustration with the moderated and expressed current: 20 mg, with an interval of 2-3 days are possible increase in a dose by 10-20 mg to 75 mg a day;
• Psychotic states in a chronic current at schizophrenia and other chronic psychoses: 20-40 mg;
• Agitation at patients with an oligophrenia: 6-20 mg, if necessary are possible increase in a dose up to 25-40 mg;
• The senile frustration which are followed by confusion of consciousness and agitation: 2-6 mg, if necessary are possible increase in a dose up to 10-20 mg (more preferable to accept drug in the evening).

Side effects

• Cardiovascular system: tachycardia, orthostatic dizziness is possible; seldom – orthostatic hypotension;
• Central and peripheral nervous system: at the initial stage of therapy there can be extrapyramidal symptoms (as a rule, they korrigirutsya by decrease in a dose and/or purpose of protivoparkinsonichesky medicines, however it is regularly not recommended to apply the last in the preventive purposes), drowsiness, accommodation disturbance development is also possible; very seldom at long therapy at some patients late dyskinesia develops (protivoparkinsonichesky drugs do not eliminate symptoms of this state, the dose decline or if it is possible, the therapy termination is recommended);
• Urinary system: ischuria;
• Alimentary system: a lock, dryness in a mouth; seldom – passing minor changes of hepatic tests.

Special instructions

At long therapy it is periodically necessary to carry out careful clinical control of a condition of the patient for reduction of a maintenance dose.

It is necessary to consider that at Klopiksol's use the malignant antipsychotic syndrome (MAS) with a lethal outcome in rare instances can develop. Treat the main symptoms of ZNS: muscular rigidity, a hyperthermia and disturbances of consciousness in combination with dysfunction of the autonomic nervous system (tachycardia, labile arterial pressure, sweating strengthening). At development of these symptoms it is necessary to cancel urgently therapy and to appoint the symptomatic and supporting treatment.

At Klopiksol's use, in particular at the beginning of therapy, before definition of individual reaction to the carried-out treatment it is necessary to be careful at control of motor transport and performance of potentially dangerous types of works.

Medicinal interaction

At simultaneous use of Klopiksol with some medicines there can be following effects:

• The ethanol, barbiturates and other means having the oppressing effect on the central nervous system: strengthening of sedative action;
• Guanetidin and drugs with similar action: blocking of their hypotensive action (the combination is not recommended);
• Metoclopramidum, piperazin: increase in risk of development of extrapyramidal symptoms;
• Levodopa and other adrenergic means: decrease in their efficiency.

Pharmaceutical incompatibility of Klopiksol is not established.

Terms and storage conditions

To store in the place, unavailable to children, at a temperature up to 25 °C.

Period of validity – 5 years.
