Diroton

Diroton – the drug intended for regulation of arterial pressure.

Pharmacological action

The diroton possesses pronounced hypotensive (lowers blood pressure) and peripheral vasodilating properties.

Active ingredient of this drug is lisinopril.

After use Diroton begins to act in 60 minutes, the maximum effect is observed in 6-7 hours and remains for days.

Indications to Diroton's use

The instruction recommends to apply Diroton at:

• arterial hypertension;
• acute myocardial infarction in the first days;
• chronic heart failure as part of a combination therapy;
• diabetic nephropathy (damage of kidneys) for the purpose of decrease in an albuminuria (release of protein with urine).

Application instruction of Diroton

The diroton is issued in the form of the tablets containing 2,5 mg, 5 mg, 10 mg or 20 mg of lisinopril. It is recommended to accept this drug once a day (morning), irrespective of meal, washing down with water.

Diroton's testimony at primary hypertensia assumes use of 10 mg of drug a day in an initiation of treatment and the subsequent transition to 20 mg a day. The daily dose of Diroton at primary hypertensia should not exceed 40 mg. The maximum effect of drug is observed in 2-4 weeks of regular use of Diroton.

If to the patient diuretic (diuretic) drugs were appointed, their reception should be cancelled in 2-3 days prior to Diroton's use. If cancellation of diuretic drugs is impossible, it is necessary to reduce a daily dose of Diroton to 5 mg.

During Diroton's use it is necessary to control a condition of kidneys, level of sodium and potassium in blood.

Side effects

• most often - a headache, dizziness, dry cough, diarrhea, weakness, vomiting, nausea, a stethalgia, hypotension, skin rash;
• bradycardia, tachycardia, myocardial infarction;

• anemia, thrombocytopenia, leukopenia, neutropenia, increase in SOE;
• Quincke's disease;
• decrease in a potentiality, renal failure, anury (urine does not come to a bladder), uraemia (organism self-poisoning as a result of a renal failure), oliguria (reduction of amount of urine);
• hypopotassemia, hypomagnesiemia, hyponatremia, hypercalcemia, decrease in tolerance to glucose;
• exacerbation of gout, fever, mialgiya (muscle pain), arthritis (damage of joints), arthralgia (joint pain).

Contraindications to Diroton's use

Diroton the instruction prohibits drug use at:

• hypersensitivity to lisinopril;
• primary aldosteronism (a tumor of bark of adrenal glands with formation of excessive quantity of Aldosteronum);
• stenosis (narrowing) of renal arteries;
• dekompensirovanny renal failure;
• stenosis of the mouth of an aorta;
• change of biochemical parameters of blood.

Diroton's use is contraindicated at pregnancy, in the period of a lactation and to children up to 16 years.

Additional information

According to the instruction, Diroton it is necessary to store at ^{a temperature of 25-300C} in the dark and dry place.

Drug is considered suitable within 3 years from the moment of release.
