Gayro

Gayro – antiprotozoan and antimicrobic means.

Form of release and structure

Dosage form – tablets, film coated: green color, biconvex oblong shape with dividing risky on one of the parties, tablet weight under a cover of almost white color (on 3 pieces in the blister, in a cardboard pack of 1, 4, 5, 7 or 10 blisters; on 10 pieces in the blister, in a cardboard pack 1 or 2 blisters).

Active ingredient – орнидазол, in 1 tablet – 500 mg.

Auxiliary components: lactose, cellulose microcrystallic, silicon dioxide colloid, sodium lauryl sulfate, magnesium stearate, povidone (K-30), croscarmellose sodium, talc, water (in the course of production is removed).

Structure of a film cover: опадрай II (85G51314) – a gipromelloz (HPMC 2910), a macrogoal-400, titanium dioxide, an aluminum varnish with a dye basis a quinolinic yellow, aluminum varnish with a dye basis diamond blue, water (in the course of production is removed).

Indications to use

• Trichomoniasis;
• Lambliasis;
• Amebiasis, including pathologies of abenteric and intestinal localization (amoebic dysentery, amoebic abscess of a liver, an asymptomatic amebiasis);
• Helicobacter pylori infections at a peptic ulcer of a stomach and duodenum at a concomitant use of drugs of bismuth and an antibiotic;
• The mephitic bacterial abdominal and gynecologic gangrenes caused by Bacteroides spp., Clostridium spp., Eubacterium spp., Peptococcus spp., Peptostreptococcus spp. and other anaerobic organisms sensitive to an ornidazol;
• Prevention of infections before a planned operative measure on reproductive organs and digestive tract.

Contraindications

• Leukopenia, including the anamnesis;
• Epilepsy and other pathologies of a nervous system;
• I trimester of pregnancy;
• Hereditary intolerance of a galactose, deficit of lactase, glyukozo-galaktozny malabsorption;
• Breastfeeding period;
• Age up to 3 years;
• Hypersensitivity to components of drug and derivatives of a nitroimidazole.

With care it is recommended to appoint Gayro at a renal and/or liver failure, the patient with oppression of a nervous system and marrow, in the II-III trimesters of pregnancy, to patients of advanced age.

Route of administration and dosage

Gayro's pill is taken inside after food, washing down with enough water.

The recommended dosing:

• Trichomoniasis: the adult – on 1 piece 2 times a day (in the morning and in the evening), a course of treatment of 5 days. Women are in addition recommended to apply орнидазол in the form of vaginal tablets. After carrying out a control laboratory research, if necessary, the course can be repeated in 3-4 weeks. The alternative scheme of therapy – on 4 pieces once to each of sexual partners. Treatment always should be carried out at sexual partners at the same time. To children – the dose is defined from calculation for 25 mg on 1 kg of weight of the child and appointed in one step;
• Lambliasis: patients weighing more than 35 kg – 3 pieces of 1 times a day (evening), weighing up to 35 kg – on 40 mg on 1 kg of weight of 1 times a day. A course of treatment – 1-2 days;
• Amebiasis: patients with the body weight of 35-60 kg – on 3 pieces of 1 times a day (evening), weighing more than 60 kg – on 2 pieces 2 times a day (in the morning and in the evening), to children weighing up to 35 kg – on 40 mg on 1 kg of weight of 1 times a day. A course of treatment – 3 days. Alternative scheme of treatment lasting 5-10 days: the patient with body weight more than 35 kg – on 1 piece 2 times a day (in the morning and in the evening), at body weight to 35 kg – on 25 mg on 1 kg of weight of 1 times a day;
• Asymptomatic amebiasis: the adult – on 1 piece 2-3 times a day, a course of treatment – 5-7 days;
• Chronic amebiasis: the adult – on 1 piece 3 times a day, a course of treatment – 5-10 days;
• Acute amoebic dysentery: 3 pieces once;
• Liver abscess: no more than 5 pieces once or in 2-3 receptions, a course of treatment – 3-5 days in combination with tetracyclines (antibiotics) and other methods of therapy;
• The infections caused by anaerobic bacteria: the adult – on 1-2 pieces 3 times a day in time or after meal. To children – on 10 mg on 1 kg of body weight a day to accept in equal shares 2 times a day. Gayro can appoint in combination with other antibacterial means. A therapy course – no more than 7 days;
• Eradikation (destruction) Helicobacter pylori: on 1 piece 3 times a day, a course of treatment – 7 days at a concomitant use of amoxicillin;
• Prevention of the infectious pathologies caused by anaerobic bacteria before a planned operative measure on a stomach cavity, in obstetrics and gynecology: in the beginning accept 2 pieces once, then on 1 piece 2 times a day within 3-5 days.

At Gayro's appointment patients with a renal failure need to reduce a dose twice.

Side effects

• Nervous system: weakness, a headache, a sleep disorder, dizziness, muscle tension, a tremor, a lack of coordination of movements, the touch or mixed peripheral neuropathy, spasms, a temporary loss of consciousness, вертиго, irritability, hypererethism;
• Alimentary system: a loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, pains in epigastriums, diarrhea, locks, intestinal colic, a perversion of flavoring feelings, disturbance of functional indicators of hepatic tests;
• Musculoskeletal system: arthralgias;
• System of a hemopoiesis: leukopenia;
• Allergic reactions: skin itch, rash, small tortoiseshell.

Special instructions

It is necessary to appoint with care drug at a heavy liver failure as there is a risk of increase in level of concentration of an ornidazol and its metabolites in a blood plasma.

At emergence of dizziness, an ataxy and other disturbances of the neurologic status of the patient immediate drug withdrawal is required.

At Gayro's use more than 10 days it is regularly necessary to control function of a liver and a picture of peripheral blood.

The possibility of continuation of treatment at a leukopenia depends on a risk degree of development of infectious process.

After therapy of a mecotic vaginitis before and after periods during three next cycles it is necessary to carry out control tests.

During treatment of trichomoniasis it is necessary to refrain from sexual contacts.

Simultaneous therapy of each of sexual partners is obligatory.

In the presence of lambliasis symptoms after end of a course of treatment, it is necessary to carry out in 3-4 weeks 3 analyses a bucketed calla in 2-3 days.

Medicinal interaction

Gayro does not inhibit an atsetaldegiddegidrogenaza at a combination to ethanol.

At a concomitant use effect of anticoagulants of a coumarinic row amplifies, the myorelaxation effect a bromide vekuroniya lasts.

Terms and storage conditions

To store in the protected from light, dry place at a temperature up to 30 °C. To protect from children.

Period of validity – 3 years.
