Elok

Elok – modern steroid medicine of the last generation.

Asmaneks Tvistkheyler, Mometazona furoate, Gistan-N, Nazoneks, Silkaren, Eloky With, Momat, Monovo, Avekort, Uniderm – structural analogs of Elokom on the operating component.

Structure and form of production of drug of Elokom

Elok is issued in the form of ointment, lotion and cream.

One gram of cream Elok (0,1%) contains 0,001 g of a mometazon of furoate – the main operating drug component. Additional components: пропиленгликольстеарат, hexyleneglycol, phosphoric acid, stearyl alcohol, cetyl stearyl ether, octenylsuccinate, tsetereat-20, titanium dioxide, vaseline, wax white and the water purified.

One gram of ointment Elok (0,1%) contains 0,001 g of a mometazon of furoate. Auxiliary ingredients: hexyleneglycol, phosphoric acid, пропиленгликольстеарат, wax white, vaseline, the water purified.

1 ml of lotion Elok (0,1%) contains 1 mg of a mometazon of furoate. Additional components: isopropyl alcohol (40%), sodium phosphate, propylene glycol, the hydroxypropyl cellulose, water distilled.

Ointment and cream Elok are produced in tubas on 15 g, and lotion – in bottles on 20 ml.

In many responses to Eloky it is said that the production of drug in several dosage forms gives the chance to apply it at different stages of an inflammation of integuments in various localizations.

Pharmacological action of Elokom

According to the instruction Elok possesses antiinflammatory, vasoconstrictive, anti-exudative, antipruritic action. Stimulates with Elok formation of own proteins-inhibitors of a phospholipase _{of A2} (lipokortin) blocking development of mediators of inflammatory reactions in a site of application – prostaglandins and leukotrienes.

Absorption of ointment and cream by Elok is insignificant. In eight hours after putting drug on the unimpaired skin in a blood-groove 0,7% of a mometazon at use of drug in the form of ointment are found and 0,4% of a mometazon when using Elokom's in the form of cream.

In some responses to Eloky it is said that drug does not cause folliculites, an atrophy of skin, a hypertrichosis – the side effects inherent to other fluorinated means.

Indications to Elokom's use

According to the instruction Elokom's use and Elokom's analogs is shown at the following skin diseases:

• psoriasis;
• eczema in a chronic form;
• atopic dermatitis;
• pruritic dermatosis of various genesis;
• diskoidny lupus erythematosus;
• sunblisters;
• red flat deprive.

The instruction to use

And Elokom's analogs are used by Elok exclusively outwardly. Duration of use of drugs depends on the speed of disappearance of symptoms of a disease, individual portability of medicine of the patient, and also on existence and expressiveness of collateral symptoms.

According to the instruction Elok in the form of cream or it is necessary to apply ointments on the damaged sites of skin once a day.

Lotion Elok should be used once a day (at a diskoidny lupus erythematosus – two-three times a day). In some responses to Eloky is confirmed that lotion does not leave marks and affects okhlazhdayushche the injured skin. According to the instruction it is necessary to put one-two drops of lotion to the place of an inflammation, and then the massage movements to rub in skin before full absorption.

Contraindications to Elokom's use

• perioral dermatitis;
• acne rash;
• skin displays of syphilis and tuberculosis;
• viral diseases of skin (herpes infection, chicken pox);
• children's age up to two years;
• postvaccinal reactions.

At pregnancy in the period of a lactation it is not recommended to apply Elok in high doses a long time.

Side effect

Judging by responses to Eloky, drug is in most cases transferred well. In some cases at Elokom's use there can be following collateral symptoms:

• nausea;
• skin atrophy;
• furunculosis;
• burning sensation and prickings;
• dryness and irritation of skin;
• hypoxanthopathy;
• allergic reactions;
• accession of a viral, bacterial or fungal infection;
• formation of striya (extensions);
• decrease in skin sensitivity;
• emergence of elements of a heat rash;
• very seldom – emergence of pustules and bubbles on skin.

Prolonged use of Elokom can promote development of adrenal insufficiency or Cushing's syndrome – the general (system) collateral symptoms characteristic of all hormonal drugs.

Prolonged use of Elokom or Elokom's analogs in treatment of children of early age quite often leads to disturbance of their growth and development.

Overdose by Elokom

The overdose most often happens at uncontrolled use or when using drug in the dosages exceeding recommended.

In case of overdose by Elokom there is a work delay гипоталамо - pituitary and adrenal system.

At emergence of symptoms of overdose it is necessary to stop drug use. In case duration of therapy exceeded one week, cancellation has to be gradual. Further it is necessary to carry out symptomatic therapy (depending on overdose symptoms).

Special instructions

Prolonged use of Elokom can change symptoms of some skin diseases that in turn can complicate statement of the correct diagnosis. At long use of Elokom healing of any skin injuries of skin – scratches, wounds, grazes is considerably slowed down.

Storage conditions

Periods of storage:

• Elok in the form of cream – 2 years;
• Elok in the form of ointment – 3 years;
• Elok in the form of lotion – 3 years.

It is recommended to store drug at a temperature not above 25 °C.
