Kondilin
Application instruction:
Kondilin – the outside medicine having the cauterizing and mummificating effect.
Form of release and structure
Dosage form – solution for external use of 0,5%: transparent, colourless (on 3,5 ml in dark glass bottles, in a cardboard pack 1 bottle complete with 30 applicators).
Active ingredient: podophyllotoxin, in 1 ml – 5 mg.
Additional substances: the water purified sodium a lactate, ethanol, lactic acid.
Indications to use
Kondilin – the drug intended for topical treatment of sharp-pointed condylomas (Condylomata acuminata).
Contraindications
- Age up to 12 years;
- Period of pregnancy and lactation;
- Simultaneous use of other drugs with the same active ingredient;
- Hypersensitivity to medicine components.
Route of administration and dosage
Kondilin it is necessary to apply outwardly: to apply on the condylomas which are washed up with soap and well dry-through, 2 once a day. Therapy duration – 3 days. If necessary conduct repeated courses with 4-day intervals. The general duration of therapy should not exceed 5 weeks.
Rules of use of drug:
- To moisten the applicator in solution so that the opening of a loop was completely filled with liquid;
- By means of a loop it is accurate to apply solution on a condyloma (important that drug did not get on healthy sites of skin and mucous membranes);
- To repeat the procedure, moistening with solution other condylomas, but no more than 50 times.
In order to avoid irritation of the healthy, adjoining to a condyloma skin, after application it is necessary to allow drug to dry out well.
Side effects
In a site of application of Kondilin perhaps emergence of slightly expressed pain, reddenings and ulcerations of an epithelial cover of a condyloma (usually these reactions are noted in an initiation of treatment, a thicket for 2-3 day). In the presence of condylomas of the big size in preputial area (area of a prepuce) hypostasis and a balanoposthitis can develop.
In certain cases there are allergic reactions.
Special instructions
During putting drug it is necessary to observe extra care, especially at an arrangement of condylomas in preputial area. To avoid hit in eyes, on mucous membranes and the healthy skin adjacent to a condyloma. In case of hit in eyes it is necessary to wash out immediately them a large amount of clear water.
The irritation and expression of skin / a mucous membrane around a condyloma can be prevented by means of vaseline, neutral creams, zinc or protective oxide ointment – means needs to apply on the fabrics surrounding condylomas just before Kondilin's application.
In case of edematization and/or a balanoposthitis it is possible to use anti-inflammatory drug, for example, a glucocorticosteroid in the form of ointment for external use.
When putting drug on a surface, big on the area (more than 10 cm2) development of the reactions caused by resorptive effect of podophyllotoxin is possible.
Inspection is reasonable and if there is a need, treatment of both sexual partners. During therapy it is necessary to refrain from sexual contracts or to use reliable barrier methods of contraception.
Kondilin does not exert a negative impact on speed of reactions and ability to concentration of attention.
