The author of "The Liepaja diet" is the Latvian nutritionist Lev Hazan, and she is obliged by the name to the city in which it worked. The diet suits those who need considerable weight reduction. Its menu is very various. The main emphasis is placed on essential reduction of portions and restriction of caloric content of a diet.

Rules of "The Liepaja diet":

  • standard daily rate – 1200 kcal;
  • it is important to observe precisely the sizes of portions and to count their caloric content (for this purpose it is worth getting electronic kitchen scales);
  • 3 meals a day, an interval between a breakfast and a lunch – 5 hours, between a lunch and a dinner – 5,5 hours (except the days stipulated in the menu);
  • any having a snack is prohibited;
  • salt is excluded from a diet;
  • daily it is necessary to drink a certain volume of pure still water – 1,75 l in the fall and in the winter, 2 l in the spring and in the summer;
  • duration of a night dream not less than 8 hours, it is necessary to lay down and rise at the same time;
  • regular, but moderate exercise stresses, massage, hot bathtubs with sea salt;
  • maintaining diary. Every day at the same time it is necessary to measure the weight, arterial pressure and pulse, every week – sugar level in blood, 2 times a month – volumes of a waist, hips and a breast. These data register in the diary, thus the state of health and efficiency of a diet are controlled.

Basic dishes of the menu (meat salad, vinaigrette and vegetable garnish) prepare according to special recipes:

  1. Meat salad. To small cut boiled meat or sausage, potatoes in a uniform, pickle and egg. To add tinned green peas, to fill 1 tablespoon of sour cream or mayonnaise.
  2. Vinaigrette. To cut in cubes boiled potatoes, carrots and beet, pickle, onions. To add sauerkraut and to fill with any vegetable oil.
  3. Vegetable garnish. To grate boiled beet on a large grater, to add the cut inflorescences of a boiled cauliflower and tinned green peas. To fill with lemon juice.

"The Liepaja diet" is expected 3 months: in the first and second months there is a weight reduction, during the third – stabilization. After that it is necessary to take a break for several months to avoid accustoming to a diet. Otherwise process of weight reduction will considerably be slowed down. If there is a need for further weight reduction, 2-3 months later the three-months cycle can be repeated.

The week menu of "The Liepaja diet" is counted on 4 repetitions in a month. That is after the seventh day of a diet it is necessary to start a week cycle over again.

First day

Breakfast: oil and cheese sandwich, tea or black coffee.

Lunch: 160 g of a hot dish from any meat with any sauce, 120 g of a vegetable garnish, 200 ml of vegetable or fruit juice.

Dinner: little fish canned food or 1 tablespoon of fish caviar, bread slice *, 120 g of vinaigrette, 200 ml of any drink.

Second day

Breakfast: oil and sausage or meat sandwich, tea or black coffee.

Lunch: 160 g of a hot dish from seafood or fish with any sauce, 120 g of a vegetable garnish, 200 ml of vegetable or fruit juice.

Dinner: 120 g of meat salad, 200 ml of any drink.

Third day

Breakfast: 2 boiled eggs, tea or black coffee.

Lunch: 160 g of a hot dish from any meat with any sauce, 120 g of a vegetable garnish, 200 ml of vegetable or fruit juice.

Dinner: little fish canned food or 1 tablespoon of fish caviar, slice of bread, 120 g of vinaigrette, 200 ml of any drink.

Fourth day

Breakfast: oil and meat sandwich, tea or black coffee.

Lunch: 160 g of a hot dish from seafood or fish with any sauce, 120 g of a vegetable garnish, 200 ml of vegetable or fruit juice.

Dinner: 120 g of meat salad, 200 ml of any drink.

Fifth day

Breakfast: oil and cheese sandwich, tea or black coffee.

Lunch: 160 g of a hot dish from any meat with any sauce, 120 g of a vegetable garnish, 200 ml of vegetable or fruit juice.

Dinner: little fish canned food or 1 tablespoon of fish caviar, slice of bread, 120 g of vinaigrette, 200 ml of any drink.

Sixth day

Breakfast: oil and meat sandwich, tea or black coffee.

Lunch: 160 g of a hot dish from fish with any sauce, 120 g of a vegetable garnish, 200 ml of vegetable or fruit juice.

Dinner: 120 g of meat salad, 200 ml of any drink.

Seventh day

300 g of cottage cheese, 2 tablespoons of honey, 500 ml of milk, 2 apples, 10 walnuts to divide into 5-6 meals at regular intervals.

* A bread slice – a piece approximately 60×90×15 mm.

The menu of the second month same, but a dinner of the fifth day consists of chocolate curd cake and 5 oatmeal cookies.

In the third month of "The Liepaja diet" the first day is done every week unloading. This day use only 1 kg of fresh unsweetened fruit and 1,5 l of kefir.

Useful tips

Council 1: it is better to drink water in the small portions (on 100 ml), it is so easier to drink necessary volume, when there is no thirst.

Council 2: if there was a failure, next day it is necessary just to renew a diet.
