Oftagel
Application instruction:
Oftagel – the medicine promoting moistening and protection of a cornea of eyes.
Form of release and structure
Dosage form – gel eye: colourless or a little opalescent (on 10 g in the polyethylene bottles with a capacity of 10 ml equipped with a pipette, 1 bottle in a pack cardboard).
Active agent: carbomer 974P, its contents in 10 g of gel makes 0,025 g.
Auxiliary components: water for injections, polyvinyl alcohol, a lysine monohydrate, sorbitol, sodium acetate, a benzalkoniya chloride.
Indications to use
Oftagel – the drug intended for treatment of the diseases which are followed by a syndrome of a dry eye, shown compensatory dacryagogue, feeling of a foreign body in an eye, burning, an itch:
- Irritation of eyes owing to work on the computer ("office eye syndrome"), influences of smoke or dust, etc.;
- Dry keratoconjunctivitis;
- Stephens-Johnson's syndrome;
- Diseases a century at which there is an insufficient contact of a cornea with a tear;
- Shegren's disease;
- Insufficient slezootdeleniye.
Also Oftagel is applied when performing recovery therapy after surgical or laser interventions on a cornea.
Contraindications
Drug should not be used with the known hypersensitivity to any component which is its part.
Adequate controlled researches on an occasion of safety of use of carbomer 974P during pregnancy and a lactation were not conducted therefore Oftagel can be appointed only after assessment of the expected advantage and possible risks.
Route of administration and dosage
Oftagel is applied konjyunktivalno.
Gel should be dug in on 1 drop from 1 to 4 times a day depending on expressiveness of symptoms.
Before instillation it is necessary to wash up hands, after that to incline the head back, to delay a lower eyelid and to dig drug in a conjunctival sac between an eye and a lower eyelid.
Duration of treatment is defined individually.
Side effects
Right after an instillation the following local reactions are possible: irritation of eyes, short-term burning sensation, passing misting of sight.
Special instructions
One bottle is intended for treatment only of one person.
It is not necessary to concern a tip of a pipette of an eye, a century and other surfaces.
After an instillation it is necessary to close a bottle at once.
The chloride which is Oftagel's part a benzalkoniya can be absorbed by contact lenses and decolour them, therefore it is necessary to remove them before instillation, and after to establish not earlier than in 30 minutes.
At co-administration of other ophthalmologic drugs Oftagel the last should dig in with the minimum interval of 15 minutes.
As eye gel can cause short-term decrease in visual acuity, right after an instillation it is not necessary to drive the car and to carry out potentially dangerous types of works demanding the clearness of visual perception.
Medicinal interaction
Pharmacological interaction of Oftagel with other medicines is not studied.
Terms and storage conditions
To store in protected from light and the place, unavailable to children, with observance of temperature condition from 15 to 25 ºС. After opening the bottle is recommended to be stored in cardboard to a box in the turned look (for simplification of intake of gel).
Period of validity – 30 months, after the first opening of a bottle – 1 month.
