Офтаквикс

Офтаквикс (the international name – Levofloxacin) is antimicrobic drug from group of ftorkhinolon. Drug is intended for elimination of inflammatory processes of eyes and destruction of harmful microorganisms which will not respond to treatment penicillin and other antibiotics.

Structure and form of release

The main active ingredient – Levofloxacin of 5,12 mg.

Auxiliary components: chloride a benzalkoniya, sodium chloride, sodium hydroxide, Acidum hydrochloricum and the purified water. Офтаквикс produce in the form of eye drops in bottles with a dropper 5 ml which are placed in cardboard packaging. Drops of Oftakviks have a light yellow shade, a homogeneous consistence and a slight chloride smell.

Pharmacological properties of Oftakviks

Eye drops of Oftakviks are drug of a broad spectrum of activity with antibacterial, antimicrobic and antiinflammatory effect. Active ingredient of drug is directed to suppression of synthesis DNK-girazy and change of morphology in cytoplasm, a membrane and cellular structures.

Офтаквикс works against various eye bacteria and microorganisms, including Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus agalactiae, Enterobacter cloacae, Enterococcus faecalis, Klebsiella oxytoca, Moraxella catarrhalis, Proteus vulgaris, Bordetella pertussis, Chlamydia pneumoniae, Klebsiella oxytoca, Acinetobacter anitratus, etc.

Active agent levofloxacin possesses the expressed antimicrobic action and suppresses formation of DNA of microorganisms, and also neutralizes their negative impact on a mucous membrane of eyes.

Has good responses of Oftakviks as medicine of bystry action and high degree of efficiency at treatment of diseases of the eyes caused by gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria.

Drops of Oftakviks after drawing on a mucous membrane of eyes can be late in the lacrimal film. Average concentration of drug is reached within 5-7 hours, and the maximum concentration is recorded for the 4th days of use and makes 2 mkg/ml.

Drug is appointed for treatment of conjunctivitis, a blepharitis, a keratitis, a dacryocystitis and a meibomitis.

Contraindications

Side effects of Oftakviks

• from urinogenital system – a vaginitis, an itch and burning in genitalias, disturbances of work of kidneys, sexual dysfunction, impotence, disturbances of an ejaculation;
• from a musculoskeletal system – arthrosis, rheumatism, gout, arthritis, a mialgiya, muscular spasms, an arthralgia, a tendinitis, weakening of a muscle tone.

After a course of treatment drops of Oftakviks there can be skin reactions, including consolidations, a hyperemia, skin rash, a peeling and the increased sweating which usually take place within 5-7 days.
