Arteritis

Arteritis (arteriitis; Greek aer – air + Greek tereo – to contain + lat. it (словообраз. a suffix) – inflammatory process) – an inflammation of walls of an artery.

Allocate the following types of arteritis:

  • Allergic (allergica) – arteritis in which pathogeny allergic mechanisms are involved;
  • Aseptic (aseptica) – has the toxic or toksiko-allergic character which is not connected with immediate effect on a wall of vessels of a contagium;
  • It is purulent - necrotic (purulenta necrotica) – a combination of processes of a necrosis and leukocytic infiltration of a vascular wall;
  • Infectious (infectiosa) – develops at infectious diseases (rickettsioses, syphilis, a brucellosis, rheumatism, scarlet fever, flu);
  • Necrotic (necrotica) – is characterized by a focal necrosis of a vascular wall; it is observed at sepsis, toksiko-allergic processes and collagenoses;
  • Polipozno-yazvenny (polypoulcerosa) – it is characterized by an ulceration of an internal cover of an artery with formation of fibrinoleykotsitarny blood clots in the form of a polyp;
  • Productive and purulent (productiva purulenta) – a combination of processes of the organization of exudate and purulent infiltration of a vascular wall to growth of an internal cover of an artery;
  • Productive and necrotic (productiva necrotica) – a combination of processes of necrosis and a sclerosis of a vascular wall to growth of an internal cover of an artery;
  • Productive (productiva) – is characterized by growth of an internal cover of an artery;
  • Rheumatic (rheumatica) – the productive and necrotic arteritis against the background of rheumatism proceeding with education in walls of vessels of rheumatic granulomas, fatty or okolososudisty connecting tissue;
  • Syphilitic (syphilitica) – productive and necrotic arteritis against the background of syphilis, is characterized by limfoplazmotsitarny infiltration of walls of large arteries of the mixed and elastic type;
  • Specific (specifica) – develops against the background of chronic infectious diseases (syphilis, tuberculosis, leprosy, a scleroma); differs in the morphological features characteristic of these diseases;
  • Toksoplazmozny (toxoplasmotica) – productive arteritis against the background of a toxoplasmosis; leads to an obliteration of arteries and a sclerosis of walls;
  • Tubercular (tuberculosa) – necrotic and/or productive arteritis; it is caused by development of a tubercular inflammation in a wall of arteries with formation of hillocks;
  • Ulcer (ulcerosa) – necrotic - purulent arteritis, is followed by an ulceration of internal covers of arteries.
