Autohemotrasfusion

Autohemotrasfusion (autohaemotransfusio; Greek autos – own, the same + Greek haimatos, haima – blood + lat. transfusio – transfusion):

  1. Injection to the patient of his own blood which was taken some days before carrying out operation in advance;
  2. (Istor.) – hard bandaging of an extremity of sick (wounded) rubber bandage at massive blood loss for the purpose of replacement of blood in vitals.
