Autolysis

Autolysis (autolysis; Greek autos – own, the same + Greek lysis – disintegration, decomposition; synonym: self-digestion) – disintegration of fabrics and cells of an organism under the influence of the hydrolytic enzymes which are contained in them.

Allocate:

  • Autolysis posthumous (autolysis postmortalis) – disintegration after death of an organism which occurs without participation of microorganisms; it is caused by activation of hydrolytic enzymes at shift of reaction of the environment in the acid party.
