Anti-anginal means (antianginalia; Greek anti-– against; opposite property, action, situation + Greek stenos – close, narrow + Greek kardia – heart) – medicines which increase inflow of blood to heart or reduce its oxygen requirement; are applied to stopping or prevention of attacks of stenocardia (propranolol, nitroglycerine, etc.).
